A Good Day Goes Bad from Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. Don't let that title fool you. It's all good. I'll tell you what I meant by that in a minute. First off...it's wet outside. The promised rain has returned. It's supposed to be a wet weekend, but sunny by Monday. That's weather I can live with, but I expect it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. We haven't even reached winter yet, my friends, although it might feel as if it's here to many of you.

So when we left off yesterday ...

Bertha Gets a Day Off from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends, although we're almost to lunch time. I think I can still avoid breaking any laws with my "good morning" wishes. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I had breakfast with my friend Sue this morning and passed off the baby quilt for her new grandson.

Of course, I wasn't out this early, but the day started with a pretty red sunrise.

And you know how that goes: "Red sky at morning, sailors take warning." Indeed. Our weather has been chilly, but sunny for the past week. We're expecting rain this weekend. So ...

RV Show from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends, and happy Saturday. It was a busy day here yesterday. I had a little time for slow-stitching in the morning. I stitched enough on this Red Barn piece to decide to move my hoop to the right.

Now I've encompassed what remains of this one. I did a little more work on it yesterday afternoon, and I expect to finish it this morning.

From there, we dropped Mike's truck off for some service and had breakfast at a very luxurious breakfast spot. Maybe you've heard of it. Maybe you even have one where ...

It's a Start from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. I'm writing fast this morning because Mike and I are heading out to the RV show today. We're not in the market for an RV, but we always enjoy looking at what's new. I believe the fifth wheel and truck camper we have now will probably be our last RVs. Before the show, we're dropping Mike's truck off for some needed service and then getting our beloved Egg McMuffins for breakfast. Comfort food, you know. So, you can see it's going to be a busy day.

We did our grocery ...

Ready for Binding from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. Sadly, I must report that I have to go somewhere today. It's time for my monthly pedicure, and so I'll be heading out mid-morning for that. I like getting a pedicure. I just wish the pedicure would come to me. After that, I'll pick up a couple of items that have accumulated on our grocery list, and then I'll head for home. There's no telling how much time I'll have for sewing today.

If I can get to it, I'll be sewing the binding on Shop Hop 2.0 ...

Resuming a Normal Routine from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends, although there isn't much morning left in the day. It was a busy and productive morning for me. I showered and left the house early for a fasting blood draw. It's a miserable morning when I can't have my coffee. It took three sticks for one vial of blood, which was mildly annoying.

The phlebotomist read off the tests they would run on my blood, looking at me for affirmation. "If that's what the doctor ordered," I said. "I was hoping you would know what we're doing." Sheesh. It didn't ...

Spicing it Up from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. I hope everyone slept well. My morning started too early, as often happens, but there will be time for a nap this afternoon. It's going to be a run-around day. I'm getting my monthly pedicure. And then I'll go on the hunt for some pink embroidery floss. And then I have one other errand to run before I'll make my way home. (Just now it occurs to me that I probably need to get some gasoline, or the rest might end up being a short trip.)

There was a lot on my ...

Rounding the Final Corner from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. My night of sleep was short last night. It took me absolutely forever to fall asleep, but I was up at my usual time after just about 3 hours of shuteye. My mind was busy with everything I need to do, and there's no more procrastinating. Today, I really must start doing some packing. For the past couple of days, I've been doing some cooking and baking ahead. On yesterday's to-do list was to bake up these Chocolate-chunk Oatmeal Cookies with Pecans and Dried Cherries. Several years back, I scaled this favorite cookie ...

Outside Job from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. It was a day to be tired yesterday. As I mentioned, I had at the top of my to-do list to pick a bucket of weeds. Happily, there weren't many, but it required just as much getting up and down as it would have had there been more. I made it all the way around the house and finished the job...for now. But man, I needed to take my cue from Smitty after that.

While I was out picking weeds, I had some Savory Zucchini Cheddar Quick Bread baking in the oven. When it ...

Moving Slow from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. I had a lazy day yesterday. I spent some time on my slow stitching, and then wasted a good part of the day. Probably I was dragging my feet getting to my quilting project. Once I got started I made a good amount of progress, but there's still a long way to go.

Before I did any sewing, I churned the Cherry Sherbet I made the day before. It's a recipe from the Pioneer Woman. Probably we won't eat this right away since we have several dessert options available, but I wanted to ...

Homebody from ... Cat Patches

Good morning, my friends. I'm happy to say we got all our errands run yesterday, and so we're staying home today. It doesn't mean there aren't things standing between me and my sewing. At least I'm home, and I can do battle with the obstacles. Obstacles include pulling another bucket o' weeds, and then I have one housekeeping chore to do. Also, it's a lesson day for my new Photoshop Elements version. I'm hoping I'll learn something useful in this second lesson. Lesson one was devoted to poking around at the various ...
