Pollinators – OBW #135 from If These Threads Could Talk

Pollinators by Robin Pickens for Moda Fabrics is absolutely beautiful and will be in shops in December 2026.

I cut my strips 3.25″ yielding a 5″ finished hexie. I love my Studio180 Design First Choice Rulers for cutting the equilateral triangles, it is fast and accurate. I cut diamonds for 5″ Star 60 units that make 10″ stars to add to my garden.

Monday Morning Garden Stroll 06.29 from Appalachian Quilts

Almost Amish?? from Appalachian Quilts

I have some Amish friends in Berlin, Ohio.  When the kids were younger, we used to take a weekend and camp on their farm.  There were 3 farm ponds for them to play in and it was a great getaway for us.  Sometimes my sister and her 3 kids would go with us.  Sometimes my almost brother and his 3 kids would go with us.  Sometimes it was both.  (Alvin even asked us once when it was ALL of us if my almost brother was Mormon to have 3 wives and 9 kids.  LOL)  We were awakened in the mornings ...

Not Quite Ready for a 12-Step Program from Appalachian Quilts

...but I'm close!


I was more intentional this year when ordering seeds.  I save seeds.  I love to save seeds.  I haven't, however, been able to save all the varieties I want to save.  While shopping for seeds this year, I deliberately chose items I wanted to save seeds from.

These are just the flowers I ordered from Baker Creek.  I also ordered a few from Seed Savers and Bluestone Perennials.  A lot of these were chosen for pollinator attraction/feed as well as their defensive mechanisms against garden pests.
