Fiery Sunset Pattern in 2020 Quilter’s Planner from Flying Parrot Quilts

[This post contains affiliate links]

I had a pattern in last year’s Quilter’s Planner, and I’m delighted to have another one in this year’s. Meet Fiery Sunset!

Photograph by Kitty Wilkin/www.nightquilter.com

This quilt is based on a traditional block called “King’s Chain,” which is of course related to the beloved Irish Chain block. It replaces a bunch of the squares in the Irish Chain block with half square triangles. The block is still partially strip-pieced to help speed up construction.

A scrappy quilt featuring low volume fabrics from Carried Away Quilting

Hello quilting friends! I’m popping in today to show you a recent finish, my Happy Trails quilt featuring some favorite low volume prints from Fig Tree & Company. Happy Trails is just one of six fabulous patterns available in the Scrappy Project Planner by Lori Holt.

There are several reasons this quilt is special to me:

First, I took my time with it. Too often, quilt making becomes a rush due to deadlines. But this quilt evolved slowly.  I ordered the Scrappy Project Planner from My Timeless Day back in November of 2017. I took my time learning what the ...

2019 Quilters Planner and a New Cover from Pieced Pastimes

The start of a new year found me ordering the 2019 *Quilters Planner and eagerly awaiting its arrival. The first thing I wanted to create was a cover for my new planner. After a few fabric auditions, I chose a gray arrow print that had a nice organic feel to it. When my children were young, I always used a planner to track appointments, dates and record any special moments that

Quilt Show Planner Printables from Flying Parrot Quilts

With the new year almost upon us, it’s time to start thinking about which quilt shows to enter in 2019! I did a post some time ago on planning for quilt shows, and I thought I’d share some printable stickers so you can get in on the fun.

If you’re reading this and thinking “I don’t enter shows!” then let me encourage you to think about doing so. There’s nothing quite as fun as seeing your quilt hanging in a show, and lurking near it to watch show visitors ooh and aah over it.

The ...

a few (mostly fabric) additions from Charm About You

City Nights by Lewis and Irene quilting fabric

One of the things I love about visiting a quilt shop is getting to see fabric collections you've seen online, in real life. I was teaching at Patchfinders the other day and, after ogling City Nights by Lewis and Irene on my laptop, some had to come home with me! It has lovely touches of metallic, just enough sparkle without being too much. I fell for, from left to right: Architectural Blender in copper on light and City Buildings in copper and copper on multi. The copper glistens so beautifully and the colours are totally my style.

While I ...

the Round Robin Edition 15- quilting printables, cheat sheets & project tracking from Patchwork Posse

happy monday….

A little behind the scenes again.

With the full planner and the calendar version out, there of course came a moment of thought that a mini or pocket edition would be at sometime added.  With a whole lot of look overs and adjustments, I think that the final version is pretty awesome! (might be a little biased there)

I couldn’t be more happier on how it has turned out and while they haven’t physically arrived to the home yet, I cannot wait to get my hands on them!

You can pre-order here (they come in a ...

I Started the Year by Losing My Planner from Michelle's Romantic Tangle

These early days of 2018 are off to a good start. I've got lots of goals for the year, which include making better use of my time and maybe jumping from project to project a little less. I've been doing a lot of that over the past couple of years. Life gets hectic, then when I get some free time I start something new. Which isn't a bad thing, I just need to finish more of the big quilting projects.

Just before New Year's Day, I lost my planner. You know -- the one that's got ...

2018 Printable Quilters Calendar & Planner from Patchwork Posse

The planner has taken a quick little detour— there is now a calendar!

This is sooo exciting!

You’ll be able to keep track of your projects, progress, monthly calendar and sewing events, special dates and more.  There is even a sticker page!!

Can I quickly share a little backstory?

After putting together the original Patchwork Journal I had kind of dibbled a little bit in the idea of putting something in a hard copy form, but really didn’t know what that looked like.

For the journal, I really loved the concept of having it in pdf form– so ...
