After a recent trivia question, I realized that I had never read what is considered the first modern detective story (The Murders In The Rue Morgue) which was written by Edgar Allen Poe! Who knew? The stories have a Sherlock Holmes feel with observation and random knowledge used to solve the cases. The book C. Augusta Dupin is actually 3 short stories. Written in 1841, it took a minute to become accustom to the language of the time! I’m going to be reading more Poe!
