Make-A-List Monday - How Can It Possibly Be Thanksgiving Already??? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Oh my goodness - how is it possible that this Thursday is Thanksgiving??? Time sure flies when you're having fun!  But it's time to put the pedal to the metal now, because Christmas is just around the corner....

Let's take a look at how my list from last week went...

1.  Quilt Nathanael's annual quilt.
Done!  It's so nice to have two of the annual quilts finished and ready for labeling.

2.  Quilt Lilli's annual quilt.
Not done - but for a valid reason!  I was ready to load it on the frame, but ...

Make-A-List Monday - A Little Pressure Released! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Another week has flown by!  Why does the time seem to go so much faster towards the end of the year?  The days seem shorter too, with the dark falling so early.  But it's the time of year for crock pot meals, stews and soups, so cooking is a little bit easier.

I had a bit of the pressure eased last week when the commission job that I took on after my usual cut-off date fell through.  So whew!  I can breathe again!  Here's how my list last week went...

1.  Quilt Emmy's quilt.
Done ...

Make-A-List Monday - Winter Is Coming! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

We survived covid!  All is back to normal at our house, and being stuck inside helped me make progress on my on-going projects, so all is well!  Here's how last week's list went...

1.  Keep the dog active and occupied!
Bree actually did very well, and we had some fun frisbee sessions.  She actually caught the frisbee twice by jumping up over three feet in the air!  It was a sight to see, for sure!

2.  Finish the blocks for Lilli's annual quilt.
Finished!  More in a minute...

3.  Cut the remaining pieces for Emmy ...

Make-A-List Monday - So Much To Do, So Little Time!! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I hope you've had a great week and weekend!  It was my birthday weekend so we celebrated all day on Saturday - and then my husband came down with a cold which, it turns out, is covid.  Quite a disappointing end to the weekend, but he's not deathly ill, so hopefully it will be a quick bout.  He still has his sense of humor, and we text each other a lot from different parts of the house!

Meanwhile, I did get to some of the things on my list from last week!  Let's check and see ...

Make-A-List Monday - It's Been A Good Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's Monday once again, and I can honestly say I had a very productive week last week!!  Here's how everything went...

1.  Start assembling Nathanael's quilt.
No only start, but FINISH!!  Isn't this cute?

2.  Continue making Lilli's strip sets.
The strip sets are completed...

...and also cross-cut!

And if I needed a sign that this will be a good quilt, I got it!  I made this from a stack of fat quarters that I had been holding on to forever, and I'm not even sure how many were in it exactly ...

Make-A-List Monday - Turtle Not Rabbit! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, this week I was more of a turtle than a rabbit - I'm not sure why, I've got plenty of energy, but I didn't do a whole lot on my weekly to-do list.  I think it's because I'm not back in the habit of going to my studio every day and doing work work work!  I'll get there again, but I'll have to re-train myself, just like in doing these blog posts.  Here's how last week went....

1.  Finish cutting out Nathanael's quilt.
Done!  So. Many. Pieces.  But I ...

Make-A-List Monday - Slowly Making Progress! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

And another week begins!!  Mondays are wonderful, aren't they? A fresh new week to play with!  I'm still getting back in the swing of things, so I didn't get as much done as I'd like, but I did make some progress.  Let's take a look!

1.  Put borders on the string quilt and turn it over to someone else for finishing.

Done!  I think this is going to be a beautiful finished quilt - I'll find the perfect backing for it and bundle it up for someone else to quilt.

2.  Pull/buy ...

Make-A-List Monday - Vacation's Over, Back to Work! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Vacation's over, and we managed to miss the ravages of Hurricane Ian.  We were staying on Tybee Island in Georgia, very close to the waterfront, and out of an abundance of caution, left on Thursday just ahead of the storm.  It was sad to cut our trip short, but we didn't want to drive back through wind and rain, and we have a lovely porch to spend time on at home!

I did get some things done on my to-do list, so let's see how it went...

1.  Keep working on my hexie quilt.

Done ...

Make A List Monday - Time to Get Back Up On the Horse! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's time for me to get back on the horse and get to work in my studio - and the best way I know to do that is with a list!  So today my list will be all of the quilt-y things that are on my horizon for the next few months.

1.  Annual quilt for Lilli.

I'm planning a postage stamp quilt for Lili, made with some beautiful Kaffe Fassett shot cottons in deep muted colors that I have on hand.  They aren't particularly my colors, but they are definitely hers!

2.  Annual quilt for ...

Make-A-List Monday - Let The Holidays Begin! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's Thanksgiving week, and there is SO much going on - the holidays are really starting in earnest now!  Maybe, like me, you need to remember to take a deep breath every so often and just enjoy the season.  It's so easy to get caught up in all the fuss and bother and forget the joyous parts!

Last week is kind of a blur, but I did get some things done.  Let's see how that list went!

1.  Quilt a customer's quilt top.
Done! And par for the course, I didn't take any pictures ...

Make-A-List Monday - Back In The Saddle (Seat) Again! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow, it's good to be home!  We had a fabulous time in NYC, came home exhausted but exhilarated, and jumped right back into the swing of things.  Whew!  The holidays are coming fast, and there's so much to do - but first let's take a look at how I did on that list from two weeks ago....

1.  Work on eight more pillow covers that will be Christmas gifts.
Started!  Here are the eight blocks with their appliqués...

I've spray basted all of them to batting - next step will be quilting!

2.  Find a back ...

Make-A-List Monday - Welcome to November! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to November!  It is definitely feeling fall-like around here - the temps have dropped into the upper fifties and lower sixties, and maybe just maybe we'll get a freeze soon that will kill the dad-blasted ragweed!  I hope your Halloween was full of fun and candy - we had some of the cutest little trick-or-treaters I've ever seen and gave away scads of candy.  I sure feel sorry for their teachers today!

Jake and Jack made a re-appearance on our front porch this year, exhibiting their baking and candy-making skills - because Life Was Good, But Candy Is ...

Make-a-List Monday - Where Does The Time Go??? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I know it's hard to believe, but today marks two months until Christmas!  Where oh where has this year gone?  Time flies when you're having fun, but this is ridiculous. Soon it will be time to start decorating the house and celebrating the season - and honestly I can't wait!  Fingers crossed that the vaccine gets approved for my two youngest grandchildren, then we can breathe a sigh of relief and go back to normal extended family gatherings without worry.  I'm so looking forward to that!

In the meantime, though, there's still my weekly ...

Make-A-List Monday - Cool Days, Long Nights! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I don't know about you, but some of my favorite things about fall are the cool days and the longer nights.  It takes a little while to get used to the early darkness, but so worth it!  Lots more time to sew and quilt and do all kinds of fun crafting, too.  And I got lots done last week - here's how it went...

1.  Quilt the snowflake quilt.
Done!  I'm so happy to have this finished in plenty of time for Christmas!

2.  Make at least five more Endless Summer blocks.
Done!  I think I ...

Make-A-List Monday - Fall is For Quilting! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Has it started turning cooler where you are?  I keep waiting for those cool days but so far, they're a no-show.  Soon, though!  In the meantime I'll be enjoying the last little bit of summer weather.

Now, though, it's time to see how I did with last week's to-do list....

1.  Quilt Lilli's annual quilt (while she's out of town and not looking over my shoulder!)
Done!  I'm so happy with the way this turned out!

2.  Work on those Christmas pillow covers!
I finished three "JOY" pillow covers, one for ...

Make-A-List Monday - Making Progress! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's been a weird day today, with Instagram down most of the day!  Those of you who are still on Facebook probably noticed it too.  I'm so happy it's finally back up - I didn't realize how much fun I was having sharing my progress in the WIPs-B-Gone 2021 challenge until I couldn't do it!  But thankfully it's back up, plus I get to share with all of you too here - so let's get started!

Here's how last week's list went....

1.  Quilt the hockey quilt.
Done!  This is a ...

Make-A-List Monday - Chugging Right Along! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to a new week!  Fall seems to be flirting with us as the leaves on the trees try on little hints of color and the weather gets cooler.  My favorite season!  Plus fall and winter just seem to be made for quilting, don't they?  And I've definitely been doing some of that this week.  So let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Make a back for the hockey quilt.
Done, but no picture - it's just a plain old back!

2.  Quilt at least one of the grands' annual quilts.
Done - and ...

Make-A-List Monday - Planning For The Next 100 Days! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's a good thing rainy days and Mondays don't really get me down, because it's been raining here for three straight days!  As we watched the TN Titans play in Seattle on Sunday, the sportscasters commented on how unbelievably nice the weather was there - while we suffered through Seattle-like rain all day.  I'll be glad when this system passes through!  We're supposed to have beautiful fall-like weather then for a week or two, which would be really nice.  I am so ready!  How about you?

Last week was a very good week on ...

Make-A-List Monday - Light At The End of That Tunnel! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Monday is here once again (and thankfully my time sense is back on straight so I KNOW it's Monday!) and that means it's time for a little list-making!  But first let's see how last week's list went...

1.  Quilt the three memory quilts.
Done!  I'm so glad to have these finished!

2.  Ship my friend's quilts to her.
Done!  She's already received them and sent me a picture of one of them on the bed!

3.  Finish piecing the hockey quilt.
Not finished, but progress made...

4.  Start repairing and re-assembling ...

Make-a-List Monday - Wait, What? Tuesday? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Whoops!  Holiday weekends always mess up my internal blogging calendar - I completely forgot yesterday was Monday!  My husband and I spent a lot of time this past weekend cleaning out and organizing the garage in hopes of getting at least one car in it this winter so I didn't get much done on my list after Friday morning, but let's see how it went...

1.  Make a back for Nathanael's quilt.
Done!  No picture, but I found a great blue and green sea turtle print that looks perfect with it!

2.  Make a back for ...
