What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Can you believe it's already Friday again??  The days pass fast when you're having fun!  In can you missed it, I'm currently in Italy, but I had time to write a post for this Friday and schedule it to go live so you all can share your whoop whoops along with me.  We'll be taking a week off next Friday, so whoop it up now!

Happy New Year!  Even better than Mondays, a new year gives us a chance to clean up, try new things, finish old projects, and maybe make a resolution or two.  I'm not big on resolutions (they seem to be made to be broken!) but I do have some things I'm going to try to do this year.  I'm hoping to use up more of my stash, both scraps and fabric I've been holding on to for a while.  I've got a few projects that have been hanging around that I want to finish ...

Ouch!  I have definitely gotten out of shape in the past year - dragging Christmas boxes out of the attic has worn me down to a nub!  But I have crushed my exercise minutes every day this week, so there's that. Let's take a look at last week's list...

It's been a hot minute since I posted about my scrappy endeavors, but since I hadn't had much time to work on anything scrappy, I didn't have anything interest to share.  But today I have a flimsy finished!!

Because I (insanely) took on a late-season Christmas commission, I knew that I needed to really buckle down and make some serious headway on the grandkids' annual quilts.  And this week, I REALLY did!!

First of all....

And another week begins!!  Mondays are wonderful, aren't they? A fresh new week to play with!  I'm still getting back in the swing of things, so I didn't get as much done as I'd like, but I did make some progress.  Let's take a look!

1.  Put borders on the string quilt and turn it over to someone else for finishing.

Done!  I think this is going to be a beautiful finished quilt - I'll find the perfect backing for it and bundle it up for someone else to quilt.

I started on the grandkids' annual quilts this week - and well begun is half done, right?  Theses beautiful fabrics will be part of Lilli's annual quilt this year!  This is the first cut; my next step is to sew them together in strip sets and then cut again into strips of five 2.5" squares.
