Make-A-List Monday - Fall Is In The Air! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, we have had a beautiful turn to the weather, with nights in the fifties and days in the seventies - it feels like fall!  I am so ready for the change of season, and I bet you are too.  After all, fall is quilting season!

Let's take a look at last week's list...

1.  Keep working on the dinosaur quilt blocks.
I'm happy to say I made some progress here...

2.  Check my other fabric sources to see if I can find the commission quilt fabrics in stock anywhere.
Success!  I found one piece locally ...

Make-A-List Monday - Back In The Real World! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Well, it's been a few weeks since I did a Make-A-List Monday post - but don't think I've been slacking off!  OK, well, I did slack off a little bit during vacation, but I had fun sewing on things I *wanted* to work on rather on things I *needed* to work on.  First up was this Plaidish quilt...

...which I finished while on vacation. That was a fun bit of sewing and I will definitely be making more of these!  Then I worked on the reindeer blocks that eventually ended up in this top...

Isn't ...

Make-A-List Monday - Two Hurricanes??? Seriously??? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It has finally arrived - the week of our vacation - and what is currently churning its way through the Gulf of Mexico?  Not one, but two - TWO! - hurricanes!  2020 strikes again.  But we are hoping they will turn away from where we are going to stay, and rain or not, storms or not, we!

But enough of that.  Let's see how last week's list went!

1.  Deconstruct clothing items for the two customer quilts.

Mostly done.  I've deconstructed all but a couple of blocks that the customer brought this weekend.  This ...

Make-A-List Monday - Wishin' and Hopin'... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Monday, Monday... the start of a new week and a new list of tasks!  I had a busy week last week but didn't even look at my list after I wrote it, so I have no idea if I met any of those goals... so let's find out!

1.  Make a plan and write estimates for two new customer quilts.

Done!  The customer liked the idea and the price, so I'm good to go this week.  Here's a pic of what I have planned...

The white areas will be for t-shirts and memory fabrics ...

Make-A-List Monday - Progress, and Another Busy Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

After a busy week and weekend, Monday has rolled around again and another week has begun!  And it's August - can you believe it?  This year has seemed both interminable and like it's flying by, both at the same time.  I don't understand that, but I bet many of you feel the same way.

Let's see - last week I had a few things on my list, like making some see-through masks for friends...

These went to a family in Georgia...

...and these were made for my grandkids' school interpreter!

I also had on my list ...

Make-A-List Monday - So Many Projects! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

These Mondays just keep rolling around, don't they?  And they seem to come faster and faster!  But it's time to make another list, and boy do I have stuff to put on it!

Last week my one goal was to finish the commission for thirty see-through masks, and I did, just this afternoon.  I delivered them in batches, so I don't have a picture of them all together, but here's a few of them...

And my husband and I put up a new ceiling fan in my studio, this one with a working light ...

Make-A-List Monday - Back on the Mask-Making Bandwagon! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Where did the week go?  Seems like time is just flying in these hot days of summer.  I did succeed in getting my Christmas in July post done in time last week (hooray!) but it looks like this will be another busy and single-minded week this week as I work on a big order...

I've got a request to make thirty see-through masks for a local audiologist's office, and hallelujah, I finally found a pattern that I REALLY like for these!  I saw a mask on Instagram designed by @chezvies (Elvira Threeyama) that looked like it ...

Make-A-List Monday - It's Christmas in July Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Busy busy busy!  That's what it's been like around here - it seems, once again, that there just aren't enough hours in the day!  I've been working on my project for the Christmas in July blog hop, and of course, I'm running it right down to the wire.  I still have some more pictures to take tomorrow to fill in the post, but it's almost done, hallelujah!

So tonight's post will be very short, since it's almost bedtime and I've been working on the other post all night.  Be sure ...

Make-A-List Monday - Headed into Deep Summer! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I hope you had a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!  Ours started out with a Hamilton watch party with the kids on Friday, then continued on Saturday with a (masked) trip to the farmer's market and out to breakfast, then brisket and fresh corn on the cob for supper and then watching the neighborhood fireworks from our front lawn!  All in all, it was a lovely way to celebrate, and we didn't miss the crowds or huge celebration at all.

And now it's Monday, and time to review last week and look ahead ...

Make-A-List Monday - Regrouping and Stocking Up... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Wow, what a week!  Just as it seemed things were getting back to normal in the world, it looks like we are headed back to difficult times again with the coronavirus.  Fortunately, a local grocery store had their semi-annual butcher's sale this week, and I went today and stocked up for my daughter's family and ours...

I ended up with four Boston butts, ten pounds of chicken breasts, twenty pounds of hamburger, twenty pounds of bacon, a whole NY strip cut into 13 steaks, a whole ribeye strip cut into 14 steaks, and two pork loins ...

Make-A-List Monday - Things Just Keep Rolling Along! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

The first Monday of summer has arrived!  I love summer - beautiful warm days, sunshine, and usually, more time with my grandkids, although this year that part of summer started way early.  So I've been enjoying the weather and working in my quilt studio this week, and I've actually accomplished some things!

Last week, I wanted to find a back for this quilt, and maybe get it quilted.  I did find a really great backing - a total steal...

...and it's loaded up on the frame, ready to go!  I'll be quilting this one this week ...

Make-A-List Monday - Slowly Getting Back to Normal... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Last week flew by, didn't it? But I got lots and lots done and I'm finally starting to feel like things are beginning to get back to normal, just a little bit.  Are you starting to feel that way too, or are things still out of whack for you?

Strange things happened last week - like my missing batting (ordered on May 9th!) finally turning up!

I won't bore you with the whole story, but suffice it to say I won't be ordering again from any time soon!  I'm mainly just glad ...

Make-A-List Monday - Lots To Do This Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It's Monday after the end of this year's Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Challenge, and I'm STILL counting quilts!  It is wonderful to keep seeing emails pop up in my inbox with more and more quilts - so keep them coming!  Here are the ones I've received pictures of since I wrote Sunday's post...

Laura K. made these two, plus six more, that were all sent to Little Lambs of Utah....

Mary O. just sent me a picture of her happy quilt, which will be going to Quilts of Compassion...

Selina K. sent these two tops ...

Make A List Monday - Losing Track of Time from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  My husband (who has been working at home) decided to take four days, a long weekend, for the holiday and we have been doing some different things while he has been "off".  And quite honestly, I lost track of my days.  It just occurred to me that it is Monday, and a posting day - oops!  It took a while to get used to our new "normal" but once I caught the rhythm, it was a little easier.  Now I need to get back into the rhythm again after ...

Make-A-List Monday - The UFO's are Flying! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It is Monday, right?  Once again the days all seem to be running together - but I've been doing a good bit of quilting, so it's all good!  Since last week, I finished the pineapple quilt...

...and I also quilted this top from back in February.  Both quilts will be sent to my nieces, one for a new great-nephew and one for an  upcoming great-niece, due in August!

Then I put this top on the frame and got it finished.  Remember all those tops I made back in January and February? Well, I'm working on whittling ...

Make-A-List Monday - What's Next? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Welcome to another Monday - it still kind of feels like things are the same as they were, even though restrictions are being eased around here.  We still feel like it's safer to stay in, and Bill will still be working from home, so life isn't going to change much around here.  I'm still trying out new recipes (ramen in the instant pot is the bomb, guys!) and we're having a family night at least once a week with Nancy and the kids.  Some things have changed for the better!

Are you finding something similar ...

Make-A-List Monday - Quite a Week! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Yes, it's Monday.  Or Thatotherday, if you are using the COVID-19 calendar!  And it's been quite a week around here.  Let me share a little bit of what's been going on...

Face masks!  These are going to a local nursing home where the residents are finally going to be able to eat lunch together on Tuesday!

And more face masks!  These don't have a specific purpose (yet) but I'm sure that they will be needed soon.  I've taken to cutting a bunch of 8" squares and keeping them stacked by my sewing ...

Make-A-List Monday - Chasing A Squirrel! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Another week of sheltering in place has passed - what is it, five weeks now?  Seems like it's been forever.  And it's not horrible - there are much worse places to be - but it is very different, and it's hard to stay on track sometimes, isn't it?  So while trying to stay on track this week, I ended up chasing a squirrel!

As I was putting together a template for a puzzle-style t-shirt quilt, I decided to check out the BluPrint free classes, and was pleased to find a class by Christina Cameli available called The ...

Make-A-List Monday - Show Me The Mini!! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I'm so excited - I can't wait to see who else made a mini this week! I had a lot of fun making mine, and it's already hanging up in my studio.

I started with sixteen denim 5"squares from the scrap bin.

 Then I whacked and re-assembled...

...turned it once, whacked and re-assembled again!

Then I whacked it again and added some strips of 1.5" square scraps sewn together, and ended up with this!  I love seeing the sun shining through it.

But I wasn't done there - I decided since I live in ...

Make-A-LIst Monday - How About a Virtual Sewing Meet-Up? from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

I don't know about you, but I'm starting to get use to our new normal these days.  I've learned to grocery shop just one day a week instead of making three or four trips.  I'm enjoying taking walks on sunny days, and my dog loves going for walks!  I've even started doing jigsaw puzzles on the dining room while I eat breakfast and lunch. Thankfully, my daughter has a bunch of really good ones that I've been borrowing!

But I r-e-a-l-l-y miss sewing with my peeps!  It just doesn't seem right ...
