Autumn Jubilee Wool Stitch Along Finish from From My Carolina Home

How are you doing with your wool cornucopia project? I have had fun doing this hand work project, and also delighted in the shares in our Facebook Friends group with some converting this idea into a raw edge applique project. You all are so creative, and I have really enjoyed seeing the projects in progress. Today we finish the stitch along, and I’ll give you two ways to complete your project.

We left off last week with all the embellishments finished. Now to decide if it will become a pillow or wall hanging.

I have two other wool pillows ...

Autumn About Town Purse Sew Along Finish from From My Carolina Home

Today we finish up our Autumn About Town handbag. I am already getting comments from strangers as I carry this purse around town doing errands. I added a little lagniappe to it, and I’ll show you that at the end of the post. When we left off, the sides of the bag were done. Did you get this far stitching down the webbing handle?

Next, on the wrong side of the fabric, on the end with the pockets, fuse batting to the base following the manufacturer’s instructions. Repeat for second base unit in the same way.

Meet units ...

Autumn Jubilee Halloween Fun from From My Carolina Home

When we moved to our home in the mountains, we knew that there wouldn’t be any trick or treaters who would hike up here. So, for many years, Halloween was not a big deal. That is, until we joined the MINI club and began going to the annual costume party. Now, it is fun to do a little tablescape, make some pumpkin recipes and sew a table topper or a wall hanging or even a new costume. On this table, skulls and black webs bubble out of a black cauldron with happy pumpkins nestled in the leaves.

My Halloween ...

Autumn Jubilee Embroidered Mini Quilt Finish from From My Carolina Home

Today we finish the #autumnjubilee2020 Embroidered Mini quilt.  When we left off two weeks ago, your assignment was to stitch out four designs of your choice from the available designs on your machine.

Measure your embroidered elements with a square up ruler to determine the largest size.

Then add 1-2 inches all around. Cut all your embroidered pieces all the same size.

For mine, the optimum size was 5-1/2 inches.

So I trimmed all four to that size.  Then I set them out to see what size sashing would work the best.  I auditioned a 2-inch sashing, with the ...

Autumn Jubilee Wool Stitch Along – Finishing the Pillow from From My Carolina Home

Before we get started today, please review the Autumn Jubilee Rules and Notices for the entering the drawings for #AutumnJubilee2020. I have already had two disqualifications for different reasons, and I really don’t want to leave anyone out.  Now, let’s finish the pillow on our Wool Stitch Along.  When we left off, the appliques were stitched, and the veins were stitched.  This week we’ll embellish a bit and finish the project.

When the stitching is done, I like to press the piece to make sure all the handwork is laying flat before adding beads and buttons.

I ...

Autumn Jubilee Quilt Along – Week 2 from From My Carolina Home

It’s week 2 of our Autumn Jubilee Quilt Along (#AutumnJubilee2020), and the second row of the row quilt will surprise you!  For those who were on my Facebook live event earlier in September, you got a hint of a fabric to have in your stash for the quilt along.  This is the week we will use that tiny leaves print I told you about. I have put two fabric  ideas (affiliate links) on my sidebar that would work well if you don’t have anything in your stash for this row.

The row for today is a line of ...

Are you having fun with Autumn Jubilee? (#AutumnJubilee2020)  Today we continue with a new wool stitchery project.  I hope you like this new design!  This year we will make a wool pillow for a lovely Autumn accent.  You can also finish this into a wall hanging if you choose not to do a pillow.  Begin with selecting some beautiful wool felts or wool fabrics for your project.
