Lone Star Blog Hop with Island Batik from Curlicue Creations

Hello!  Welcome to my day on the Island Batik Ambassador Lone Star Blog Hop.  This is my quilt.

Lone Star Quilt from Let's Begin Sewing

A lone star quilt has long been on my bucket list of quilts to make. When I signed up for Sarah Bond 's workshop that was about variations with a lone star block, I decided to stick with the traditional pattern. 

I have lately been experimenting with colors I normally would not work with which includes darker backgrounds, non primary colors, hues and shades I rarely see in my Instagram feed. One of the best ways to pick these colors is that they are the ones that are usually not sold out at a fabric store. :)

Lonestar from Magpie Quilts

This is a quilt that I've made before in red, white and blue. I'll see if I can find a photo to show you another day. The basic Lonestar block pattern came from a McCall's Best Quilts magazine (Vol. 3, 1988).
