This will be interesting. I designed this quilt years ago. Then 4 years ago I chose the fabric from stash. And now members of the Stashbusters online group is using the 54 - 40 or Fight block in quilts they are making. I guess its time to make it. I'm almost all cut out too, using these fabrics.

The start the next shirt plan got sidetracked. When I laid out the pattern, I found the fabric was discolored in places. Washing lightened the marks but didn’t remove them. They were scattered enough I couldn’t cut around them.
My sister sent me this kit last year. I saw feathers and ribbon candy quilted in the frames until I did a mock up. The fancy quilting competed with all those patterned fabrics. Sometimes simple is better.


If my 2019 numbers change again I will recap next Sunday. Otherwise, we’re starting over next report ...
This is a Joann’s kit that included the panel, backing and binding. I don’t normally use panels, but these kits are great for practicing free-motion quilting and choosing quilting designs. The designs didn’t work so well on some of my quilts this year. Panels are an easy way to play with design and technique.
