Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? Fun Finishes! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Here we are at the end of another week - it's finally Friday, and you know what that means!  It's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  I hope you're ready - I've got lots to whoop about this week, so let's get started....

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

It's been kind of a different week for me - my husband was out of town three days early this week, so I decided it was time to paint the living room!  And amazingly, all went smoothly and I actually finished ahead of schedule.  Here's a picture from ...

I May Have A Scrap Problem... But This Quilt Could Cure It! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

You may have seen that I was doing some pattern testing for Christina Cameli of A Few Scraps - I got to make this beautiful quilt using her soon-to-be-released pattern called Light Speed...

It's a great pattern, fat quarter friendly and so easy to make!  But Christina also included some tips for making it scrappy, so I dug in my scrap boxes and came up with this completely, totally scrappy version...

This one was made with absolutely no rhyme or reason to the colors, prints, placement or anything - and I love its total scrappiness!  I think it would ...

Make-A-List Monday - Making Up For Lost Time! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Here it is, another Monday rolling around - and that means another list!  This will be a different week, as I'm planning to paint my living room - hubby is out of town, so I can make a big mess and not have to worry about cleaning it up every evening! But before we get into this week's goals, let's take a look at last week's list.

1.  Try another test of Christina's pattern using scraps.
Done!  I made this one using all scraps, no color plan in mind, just what I had to hand ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Another week has just whizzed by!  Doesn't it seem like they go faster the closer we get to Christmas?  I'm still trying to avoid seeing exactly how close it is, but it IS the last day of November - EEK!  I know we are close to the point where we won't be able to share easily (because secrets!) but I hope you'll still have something to share, even if it's not a finish!  So let's get started whooping it up!

*&*&*&*&*&*

There wasn't too much time for quilting or sewing this week, although ...

Make-A-List Monday - Getting Older is NOT for Sissies! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Monday!  How did that happen?  Such a busy week last week, and then the weekend just flew by - - - but as usual, Monday brings a fresh start and a clean slate!

I learned an important lesson last week, which I'll share in a minute - but first, let's look at last week's list.

1.  Put up a tile backsplash in the kitchen.  (My husband is taking vacation time this week so I will be assisting in the process while he takes the lead.)
Done!!  I absolutely love the way this totally changed the look of my kitchen ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Another Use For Quilting Tools... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Are you still in a turkey coma?  As I sit here writing this post on Thursday night, I'm struggling to stay awake - because of a busy week and a huge Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter's house, oh, and a very comfortable chair!  But the fact remains that it's Friday, and that means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on - so let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

As I said, it's been a busy week, and I've been using my quilting tools - but not for quilting!

These all came in very handy ...

Make-A-List Monday - And The Holidays Begin! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Monday is here again, with another clean slate and chance to make progress on things!  Last week I said "take a breath" and while I may not have, Jolene (my long arm machine) did - she suffered my attempts to adjust the pressure on the hopping foot and I had to call in the repairman to fix what I did...  oops!  He couldn't come until today, so I didn't get to everything on my list - but let's take a look and I'll come clean...

1.  Quilt the baby quilt.
I did do this one - and ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? A Scrappy "Squirrel"! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Friday sure got here in a hurry, didn't it? And Thanksgiving is less than a week away - say what???  Cold weather is upon us here in middle Tennessee, too - we actually had little spits of snow in the Nashville area, although they got more just west of us.  But since it's Friday, that means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on - are you ready?  Let's go!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

Wednesday I shared that I had a "squirrel" moment with my scraps (actually I think it was just so I didn't have to keep ...

Can I Get A Whoop Whoop? Some Fun Things, and A PSA! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

Can you believe it's Friday already??? Time sure does fly when you're having fun - and we've been having lots of fun around here!  Friday means it's time for us to get our whoop whoop on, so let's get started! (Stay tuned at the end for a PSA...)

*&*&*&*&*&*&*

As I said, there's been lots and lots going on around here!  First off, I finished the last of the six memory quilts that I was commissioned to make....

Here you can see five of them - the last bunch to be delivered.  Sadly, I couldn ...

I May Have A Scrap Problem... What I've Been Working On! from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

It is Wednesday again, and I haven't touched my sewing machine in days!  I feel like something is missing, and yet, I've been getting some fun things done!

Today I took these boxes full of parts and turned them into something wonderful - a new sleeping space for my grands!

With this set-up, the girls can sleep in the lower bed and Nathanael can have the upper bunk.  Just gotta get a twin mattress - my daughter has one that she said we could have.  Oh, and make a twin size quilt for the upper bunk!

And I ...

Can I Get a Whoop Whoop? We Interrupt Our Regular Programming... from Confessions of a Fabric Addict

Hi, all!

The week has just flown by, and Friday is finally here - and you know what that means!  It's time for us to get our whoop whoop on!  I hope you've had a whoop-worthy week - let's get started!

*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*

I've had a busy week, working on a series of new commission memory quilts.  This one is being made from golf shirts...

...and I'm in the process of deconstructing a whole lot of other shirts for more quilts.  Fun fun fun!!

But this week, I also interrupted my regular programming, so to speak, and did a ...
