Gridwork Throw Quilt Kit in Belles Fleurs! from Busy Hands Quilts

Gridwork has been kitted in the Throw size by Connecting Threads in their Belles Fleurs fabric collection!  This fabric collection reminds me of harvest colors, and they look so warm against the deep indigo blue background.  The binding that frames the quilt adds a bit of pop with a fabric that contrasts with the background.

The Gridwork quilt kit is available at Connecting Threads.

The Gridwork quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Gridwork from The Quilt Yarn

Finished one of the Lemurs

This was the second go...I had the grid wrongly aligned first time around and some of the lines fell exactly on the seams around the eyes. Begrudgingly changed this and stitched the lines half inch away from the original marked in grid. I just could not help myself...this would have bothered me for years to come. This was easy to do with a straight ruler as I just shifted the ruler over. Luckily I marked those lines very carefully for a change so this turned out quite nice. I am using the Stitch ...

Block Chain Quilt Along Week 5 – Free Motion Quilting from Christa Quilts

This part of the quilt along is always my favorite!! I’m excited to share how I free-motion quilted my Block Chain Quilt with a fast, fun and forgiving modern design I call “Geometric Chains.”

Click here to get the optional Block Chain quilt kit, while supplies last.

The basic idea is to quilt an allover design, one line at a time across the entire quilt. Below is the basic motif diagram shown in the Block Chain quilt pattern.

To get a feel for how this design is stitched, draw a series of geometric lines, similar to those shown below ...
