Good morning, my friends. It was such a beautiful day yesterday, how could I resist getting outside for a walk? Truth is...I couldn't. First, though, I needed to stitch Tiny Treasure #41:

Good morning, my friends, and a fine morning it is! The sun is shining, and it's still warm from yesterday's nice weather. It's going to cool off a little bit by tomorrow, but then we're looking at warmer weather for the remainder of the week. Is it possible that spring has sprung? I sure hope so.

Good morning, my friends. We're pretty happy about our weekend weather...although the weekend has nothing to do with it when you're retired. Every day is Saturday. In any case, we're gearing up for the warmest weather so far this year...into the 70's today and tomorrow. Hopefully, we'll be able to eat outside for the first time.

Good morning, my friends. It was good to take a day off yesterday. I managed to make my way all the way around the house pulling weeds, filling my 7-gallon bucket with hairy bittercress. I'm sure I missed a few sprigs here and there, but I gave it something to think about. There were a few other unrecognized blooming weeds out there too...friends of the hairy bittercress, one assumes. I pulled up any weed that was blooming. They'll have to spread their seeds somewhere else.

My knees were killing me after that effort. The thing is...there ...

Once the meat and potatoes part of my day was complete, I could move on to dessert. There was lots of time for sewing. Fortunately, my purrtector cat was on the job, keeping an eye out for any invading forces from the north.

Good morning, my friends. As expected, I spent most of my day in the kitchen yesterday. It's kind of fun to create a meal to celebrate a holiday, and so I don't mind a kitchen day every now and then. 

My morning started with the baking of this Irish Brown Bread. It's made with whole-wheat flour, buttermilk, and two kinds of oatmeal. The only sweetener is 2 tablespoons of honey (or golden syrup), and so it's a good loaf for anyone watching their calories and fat. Straight from the oven, it looked like this:
