Friday Night with Friends from Thread Head

I joined in this year's first Friday Night with Friends last night, hosted by Cheryll at Gone Stitchin'.

I did some weaving. I signed up for the JST School of Weaving, and so I am trying to learn to weave the way the Jane Stafford demonstrates- it is hard to break old habits (beating on an open shed, then switching treadles...). It was a bit slow going.

This is a warp for nine towels with cotton bouclé.

I finished off towel #7,

and got a good start on towel #8.

The FNwF was really motivational - thanks Cheryll!

It was an absolutely beautiful sunny day to end the week. The daytime temperatures over the past couple of days have been in the high teens / low twenties, which is just glorious for mid-winter.

Orange Peel Temperature Quilt Progress - FNwF from Samelia's Mum

It was a lovely warm autumn day yesterday with my backyard thermometer getting up over 30C. Today is meant to reach the high 20's again and then a cool change will sweep through with max temperatures forecast in the high teens to celebrate Mothers Day.

Why all this temperature talk? Well, I did a little bit of work on my temperature quilt yesterday for Friday Night with Friends (FNwF) hosted by Cheryll.
