Good afternoon, my friends. We've had a good day here at the state park. I'll tell you about this morning's hike in tomorrow's post. For now, I want to back up and tell you about the quilt shop. We needed to kill some time between checking out of the Hot Springs KOA and checking in at the state park. A quilt shop seems to me to be the perfect way to kill some time. I selected this one for its proximity and for its large parking lot. Since we'd checked out of the RV park ...

read morePatrick went golfing and I got a few things done before Sandy came over. We decided to get together today even though the others couldn't make it. I didn't want to drive to the grange, so I asked her over.
We sat and worked on our Goldwork.
I was surprised at how pretty this is coming. I worked on the beads in the first berry and then the goldwork on the second berry. Once those were done, Sandy and I liked the idea of using the goldwork in green for the stems. I think it looks a lot ...
read moreGood morning, my friends. It's our last morning in Hot Springs. We'll be moving along later this morning, heading to Morrilton, Arkansas, and Petite Jean State Park. We have three nights at our next stop, and we're hoping to see a big waterfall and to do some hiking. The weather is looking a little iffy for one of our days, and so we'll have to see how it goes when the time comes.
For now, I want to tell you about our visit to Hot Springs National Park. First, however, let's get an update on ...

read moreThis morning, I slept in, and it felt good. I played on my tablet for a while.
Then it was time for my embroidery class. I wasn't sure if I could do it, but I did. I really love how the goldwork is done.
We worked on the berries first. I learned how to twist a cord. Trouble was, it untwisted. That the bottom berries. I wasn't too worried about it. Then we had to "mark" the second berry for the goldwork to be worked in.
I have it marked and worked on the top area of the ...

This morning Patrick was up and out the door for golfing. I slept in. I wasn't in the mood to get up.
I finally got up and just sat playing games. I was able to get my chart done as well. I need to make that up on the computer and send it to my PT for my heart nurse.
Patrick got home and I pulled out the quilts to label them. One of them I don't know who made it, so it won't be labeled till I do.
This one was from Stitch'N Peace. They ...
read moreGood morning, my friends! So y'all are probably wanting to know if the clouds cleared so we could see the eclipse. I'm as happy as I can be to report that we did! It happened in the sweetest spot of a break in the clouds. When I left you yesterday, it was all clouded over, and we despaired about being able to see anything.
The eclipse wasn't supposed to begin in our area until around 12:38 p.m. I had a few things I wanted to do in the morning. At the top of my list ...

read moreThis morning Patrick went golfing and I got up just before he left. I wanted to play the game early because of the time they had the challenge.
I then decided I wanted to help with laundry, so I carried a load 3 times to the washing machine. I let Patrick know it was he's after that. Then I pulled out a quilt to put a label on.
I labeled this one and wanted to do one more but Sandy and Jeannette were coming to see me today.
Sandy and Jeannette arrived around 1 pm. It was so good ...

read moreNo, I won’t be able to see the total eclipse tomorrow; I don’t live in the right place, and I won’t be traveling to get there. That’s okay; I’ll see a partial one, and that’s fine. Still, this eclipse is big news! One of the machine embroidery sites I like made a commemorative design for […]
