A Little Quilting from Quilts....etc.

Yesterday was one of those days where not much got done.  We were out a good part of the late afternoon early evening at the movies.  We hadn’t gone to a movie in a long time.  I had heard of quite a few of you mentioning you had seen the newest Indiana Jones movie and […]

Crocheted Rug from Alamosa Quilter

I bought a large crochet hook years ago with the idea that I would use it and fabric strips to crochet a rug. You can see it in the photo below at the top right of the photo. Fast forward about 10 years, I found the unopened crochet hook! I decided it was time to give this a try. Instead of using scraps I decided to use a fun batik fabric from my shop. I got two yards, ripped it into 1" strips, made the fabric yarn and started crocheting. Well, two yards doesn't go very far!

Last week we Camped for three nights in Pembrey Country Park  South Wales.

In between sightseeing.
Camping Pembrey Country Park

Ours is the Blue Tent on the left.

Feathered Friends

We had three regular visitors while we were there.
The Robin The Pigeon & The Blackbird

The Pigeon was ringed and very tame.
The Robin was quite cheeky and almost came inside our tent a few times!
And The Blackbird was collecting food to take back to his nest. We did see Mrs Blackbird too but she was much more wary of us and kept her distance.

The Stitching Inspector

Mr Blackbird ...

Travel Crochet from Becca's Crazy Projects

What does one do when travelling? Bring yarn! All of this is from Knit Picks. These are singles. The solid color is no longer available. The multicolor is Chroma fingering.
I held the two strands together. The pattern is the Just Feel Festive Shawl by Caleisha Ryan.
I made mine using fewer cast on stitches but I like how it turned out.
I do wish I had used a larger hook, to make the fabric a little looser. Still a good finish.

How to Start a Crochet Chain from Patchwork Posse

Crochet can be such a great hobby and with some extra helpful tips – you can finish the crochet project you start. Here’s how you can start a crochet chain.

It is a little bit of mindless work. That is the reason I like it. I can sit in front of the t.v. or hang out with the kids at the park and have a little something to keep my fingers busy.

There is a little bit of counting and if you are following a pattern you do need to pay attention to a few things, but really it ...
