Giving quilts from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a glorious day - well almost. I took the girls for their walk and had already decided that it was the perfect day to go for a bike ride. After the walk, I got changed and headed out. The big question is always how far to go? I have a route that I can cut short at any time and work my way back, but I decided to go for it and go for a longer distance.

There was just one slight problem. There appeared to be a headwind. Not strong, but still a headwind. And I knew that ...

The Domestic Goddess from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

For those of you who know me or you may have picked up the vibe from reading the blog, I'm NOT into housekeeping. It's just not my thing - I know - I'm a princess. I'll blame it all on my mother. She was the queen of knickknacks. OK - so I bet that all households in the 60 and 70s were chock-a-block filled with bric-a-brac. All those cutesy ornaments and whatever else could be collected. Our house was filled to capacity!

Not only was it filled with that kind of stuff but with limited storage options, a lot ...

Ooops - I did it I again! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I've got myself into a nice little routine. Every day is almost the same, but yet it's not. There's always something new going on and yesterday was no exception. I screwed up! Big time!!!

We have a pond in our backyard and the crew was over bright and early to open it up for the season. We have three small waterfalls and we love to hear the sound of the water. That's my sleepy time music when I'm in the backyard.

However, when I went to turn the water on for them, I knew there ...

One more bites the dust from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I didn't get nearly as much completed as I would have liked, but we had company for a good part of the day so it was all for a good reason!

I did manage to get that Redwork Embroidery UFO - DONE!!!  It's now sitting in the "to be quilted" pile and I'm thrilled to death about that. There remain three items on the 2017 list, five on the 2018 list, and nine still on the list for 2019. As I mentioned, I am being very optimistic and putting 12 new items on the list for 2020. I ...

Trust your instinct! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! It was a very quiet day at our house - just the way we like it. We had popcorn for lunch while we watched the new Star Wars movie. I'm not going to say anything about the movie today, as I know some of you haven't watched it yet. It was an awesome way to spend the afternoon!

After we got home, I took a long walk with the girls to compensate for the popcorn (which had no butter, so it wasn't that big of a deal), but still, a ...

Merry Christmas!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

For those of you still following along today - Merry Christmas! It's quiet as a mouse in our house today. Just the four of us for Christmas - even the girls are quiet. They are learning!

What blows my mind is that when I opened my e-mail there were e-mails from companies BEGGING me to buy stuff. Here's an online sale, here's a coupon (a gift), need a last-minute gift? We have a gift certificate for you. Can they not give us a break on Christmas Day? Somewhere along the line, this aggressive marketing needs to stop. I did ...

UFO day from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a UFO day! The morning started off a wee bit slow - don't ask me why, but it did.

Then I was able to gather steam and I made up for the lost time.

Here's what I accomplished.

I started the day off by making the backing for this small wall hanging. Even though the wall hanging is small, I had to piece the backing. I had loads of fabric choices but wanted to find something that somewhat coordinated with the top. I think I did a great job matching the backing to the top. There's ...

The silence is deafening from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I finally got off my butt and had our furnace serviced for the upcoming (OK - we live in Ontario - we've been using the furnace for a couple of months) winter. Isn't today the first day of winter? Anyway, the furnace is 23 years old and for the last couple of years, the service technicians have been strongly suggesting that we replace the furnace. Not ready to jump into things, we kept putting it off. I had visions of HUGE expenses and wasn't prepared to cough up a lot of money.

The furnace
Besides getting a wee lecture ...

A rolling stone gathers no moss....................... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I think that's a very appropriate expression for me. I'm all about go-go-go! I know that I have an obsessive personality and I take every advantage of when I'm on a roll! The Sit n Sew days get me so fired up and now the Community Projects days get me even more fired up - well - there's NO stopping me now. I WILL get this mess cleaned up. I'm so excited about the prospect and even in my mind, I keep rearranging things to make it better. But ONLY once some of the other stuff has ...
