A progress report from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I have a LOT of topics for upcoming blog posts so stay tuned in case you're waiting for some show and tells and the book post. Also if you're waiting for a homework assignment from me - I'm having to recreate all my distribution lists. Not a fun task, but then I thought of an easy way. Now I'm browsing through my sorted inbox and creating a "contact" for everyone who has sent me an e-mail. Then it becomes a simple matter of recreating those distribution lists. Just takes a wee bit of time to create those ...

Just one of those mornings! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thankfully, I'm one of those people that can jump out of bed and be productive five minutes later.

I fired up several sewing machines and then I just seemed to have one issue after another. Loosening the tension and changing the needle helped one machine and wouldn't you know it - the other one needed a new needle as well. But not before I spent some time ripping!

How do you love that crazy weather out there? Even the girls are happy to be in the house! While they both have big thick fur coats, it's their feet ...

Sit n Sew day!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What a crazy day! We had a Sit n Sew day scheduled, but was the weather going to cooperate? Well, it did and it didn't. We didn't get nearly the amount of snow that was forecast but it was cold. I left it up to the ladies to decide. Three die-hards showed up! Lynn, Linda, and Ronda and we had a blast. We almost (but didn't) say that we should have small groups for future sit n sew days!  NO - that's not going to happen, but it was a calm day, to say the least.

Took ...

There are two sides to every story from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Before I get into the quilting business of the day, I have to share this story with you. Even today, it bothers me.

I had to stop at the post office to mail a letter to the US. Let me clarify - I was mailing a quilt block to someone in the US. A 12 ½" by 12 ½" quilt block - so not huge. I had it nicely folded and sealed in a legal size white envelope. It wasn't flat but then neither was it bulky. The post office lady (I was in Shoppers Drug Mart which is a Canada ...

What I've been doing............ from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I thought there would be tons to share with you today since technically I haven't posted about my stuff for four days. Hmm - when I edited the pictures this morning, there isn't that much. BUT - there are finishes that constitute a lot of work.

Without further ado, let's have a look.

I got the binding on that bright orange community projects quilt for our guild. Hm - now the question is - should I count this as a finished project? I made the backing, quilted it and bound it. But I didn't make or have any part of ...

Suspense from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

There are times when I feel like I'm writing a suspense novel. Each day, there's a deadline. Will the quilt get finished on time? I leave you hanging until the next day to see what actually happened.

I'm going to make you wait a wee bit longer.

I had my trunk show at Brampton Sew n Serge in the morning from 10 - 12 and then back again for 7 - 9 PM. While it was a nice sized crowd in the evening, there was standing room only in the morning. It was packed!!  But I think everyone enjoyed ...

Don't sweat the small stuff from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

And we all know that EVERYTHING is the small stuff. I try to live by this saying and it usually takes a lot for me to get worried about something.

The blog is late this morning, but I was at the gym sweating my butt off as I zipped out another 30 K in less than an hour. Nothing like a good workout and then a good breakfast to get the day started. Gosh, I love those steel cut oats! Except that it makes me late, but that's OK. We're not going to worry about that.

So what ...

Motivational Monday!!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's Motivational Monday and time to check in with everyone to see how we're making out with our UFOs.

I'm making progress on stuff - just not necessarily my UFOs. But I'm working on them. I was going to work on one yesterday, but I seem to have misplaced the border fabric. Seriously??  I hope to locate that today.

There is no Monday sewing today because of the ugly weather. While the worst of the ice storm is over, it's a mess outside with all that rain/ice/snow melting FAST so we all decided it ...

Finished is better than perfect! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Sorry - no pictures again today. I've been a busy little beaver taking tons of pictures and editing them, but it's all for the other blog posts that I do.

I'm just noticing something about this keyboard. Yesterday, I was in a real tizzy as there were certain keys, like the comma and the period that wouldn't work! I was getting some other crazy symbol. ACK! How am I supposed to write when that happens? Then I checked out the keyboard in desperation and found something called "alt gr". Apparently, that turns on other features on the ...

Living on the edge! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's hard work to be self-motivating!  Yikes!  And there's so much to be done, it's a bit overwhelming to even know where to start.

Here's a couple of things that I haven't done! Once that studio got cleaned up, I have NOT pulled stuff back out just so I could see it. I have made lists of stuff to do, I know where most things are and I'm keeping it that way and you know what? It's actually not a bad thing. I'm working on a couple of things at the same ...
