circa rows from Making A Lather

I had a wonderful sew day with my quilt guild. We met at the library and had a pitch in lunch - yummy

I worked on three projects. I have started making blocks for dotty bow ties ( I need 80), And, I added the third row to rhododendron mystery quilt. Then, I could settle in, and sew triangles to squares until I was too tired to go any further.

I made 2 more rows  and sewed them to the top. I didn't get a picture after I sewed them together circa 1880 was a swap I participated in with my ...

to do: brag about my friends from Making A Lather

My Friday group meets at the library. There are 3 of us, that meet regularly, and, we have another 5 that comes many times, but, off and on. They are all very talented, and approach quilting differently. That's why I enjoy it so much. I just like to make quilts. I may not have a reason to make one or a plan on what I am going to do with it. I may have several projects going at the same time, and, I tend to bounce around from project to project. I quilt my own quilts on a longarm ...

to do: set goals from Making A Lather

September goals are much like August goals. I wanted to accomplish more than I could last month, so this month I will play a little catch up with my projects.

1. quilt pumpkin patch

I brought this old ufo out of the closet, during purple month, for the rainbow scrap challenge. It was all in blocks. I want to finish this quilt this month, and, have it gone. I will need rows, and borders, and quilting.

2. quilt melba' s applique

I put this quilt together in January from 1920s blocks, and added a hexie from me for the center ...

august goals from Making A Lather

My One monthly goal for August includes making a top from my letters for my quote quilt.

I want to finish Jametown landing, which is a top at this point, and, I want to quilt and finish my windmill quilt.

I want to find blue ridge beauty and figure out what it needs to become a quilt.
I participated in a swap last year, and I want to start piecing it. It was our version of circa 1880.

This may be pretty optimistic for the dog days of summer, but, I am sure I will at least make progress. All ...

more courthouse steps blocks from Making A Lather

I am starting to see what this wonky courthouse steps quilt will look like when finished. I am joining squares together in sections to make it easier to assemble. More here.
I have really enjoyed making this quilt in the evening when it is dark and cold. It adds a little bright. It is s free pattern from Bonnie Hunter at quiltvile.

I have November and December swap blocks sewn and ready to trim. Which means I am finished with the swap. It will be a top priority for next year to assemble the quilt. I hope. More here

ready to swap from Making A Lather

I have my swap blocks finished for October. It wouldn't be that hard to just finish the year, if I stuck with it, but I feel behind on some other projects so I will leave them for now. I started this quilt here.

I have had fun sorting through some of the scrap packs I bought at the quilt show. I know I don't have many pinks. So, a perfectly legal purchase.

This pack had a lot of blue.

swap blocks from Making A Lather

It's that time again - a new month - a new set of swap blocks to make.  These are some that I have received from my friends in the swap. I really enjoy making these blocks, and, I have thoroughly enjoyed swapping. The year will end soon enough and it will be time for the hard work of assembly to begin.

We had a chance to attend a quilt show in Lafayette and enjoyed the quilts.

But I really liked the "garage sale" portion. I bought a scrap bag of blacks, a joann block of the month from the 90s. a ...
