Vincent Van Gogh from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's amazing how we get into our little routines, and it's hard to vary from them. I have a morning routine that's pretty standard until 9 AM. Then who knows what the day will bring!

What a great Christmas Day! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi on Zoom. It seemed a bit weird to be sharing Christmas Day with people that I normally wouldn't talk to on Christmas Day, but hey - we were all stuck in our houses, and so why not? I even got some sewing on the machine done!

Phone calls ...

Turned around from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Have you noticed as you get older that your body reacts differently to different things? I used to have zero issues with scents. The strongest scents wouldn't faze me at all. Then I noticed that I cannot have my clothes washed in ANY kind of scented laundry detergent. Just can't hack it. So now we have two boxes of laundry detergent - the scented and the unscented. Once the scented is gone - there will be no more in our house. Why do they make this stuff so strong? I can be walking outside and smell when someone is drying ...

Timing is everything! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

What an awesome day!

It didn't exactly start out the way I would have liked. I'm merrily quilting away, and then I got a phone call. A phone call that I wasn't expecting to get. Remember all that physio and massage I had last year as a result of my car accident? I do have to say that it all worked as my neck is totally back to normal with a full range, so that part was excellent. However, the office that I was dealing with wasn't the swiftest with the paperwork.

There were two insurance ...

That's PINK! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

solved the problem! Yep - it appears that I inadvertently changed a setting on the camera, so I was getting the FULL screen of the phone screen when it should have been 3/4. So that was an easy fix, and I'll just have to be more aware of it in the future. I really should sit down one day and figure out all the features of that phone camera. There are so many features, but who has time for that?

I popped out on my bike yesterday. I mean, the weather was so perfect that if you didn't ...

Whispers of Spring from Pinkadot Quilts

Twice now I have accidentally deleted the text for my post......so it will be short and sweet.
I love this bag I received from my friend Stephanie. It is so cute and functional!!!

It fits all my bits and bobs for applique when I go to my bee. It was made by Chase of Quarter Inch Mark.

I went to the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival this weekend with friends. I have been eyeing this book up and love all the quilts inside!

My friend Cindy was the instigator for this gorgeous Cherrywood fabric stash. The colors are so cheery!

Bob Ross from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Bob Ross - who is this guy? I'd never heard of Bob Ross before the Cherrywood Challenge 2019 theme was announced last November. Turns out, he's a pretty famous painter even though he died in 1995. Funny how people become even more famous after they die! Or that their legacy lives on forever.

If you want to know all about Bob, here's an hour-long documentary about him. And if you want to know what happened to all his paintings - have a look at this incredible video.  That second one is only 10 minutes long. Even Ronda's 17-year ...

It's all about the pillowcases from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm short on time this morning. My girls are never happy if they get neglected and I have to squeeze in a walk for them before I get myself on the road to go and see my quilt in the Cherrywood Challenge display. So much pressure when you plan road trips with friends! No worries - it's all good.

I was up extra early this morning but that was to cram a wee bit more embroidery into the day and to help out someone by proofing some instructions they wrote (it helps me too - so I'm good with ...

Show and tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's like Christmas - there's show and tell all around. I still have a couple of days worth of class show and tell and I hope to get through it all in the next couple of days. My goal is to edit each day's photos the day I take them. Put the pictures in folders and then they won't get forgotten which is what often happens!

A super crazy day yesterday, and I swear I was on the computer ALL day which I was, but I got that project done. Yeah! This morning, I made a list ...

Quilting Retreat - Day Four from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's the last morning! How the heck did that happen?? Although at the same time, it feels like we've been here for a long time. The Fireside Retreat house is so comfortable and so convenient and so full of laughter and friends that it feels like home. We had a little trip down memory lane last night in reading the guest book. Oops - I said that we've been here 16 times. I lied. It's been 15. It would appear that I can't count.

While I managed to get more accomplished yesterday, it still seems like ...

Sustainable sewing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh boy - I think I've gone crazy. Not that I wasn't crazy before, but this has really tipped the scales.

I should mention that my eyelid has turned many shades of purple. Since it's mostly my eyelid, you can't really see the damage! It would appear that I really fell on my left side as my chest felt a bit sore yesterday and still does this morning. But I'm recovering!

I have an event in Cochrane (November 13) and one in Timmins (November 14). The topics are what's new from Husqvarna Viking, and will ...

Pink - lots of pink! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK - I'm now obsessed (possessed) with this darn clean up thing. There was a pile of stuff in the living room and it was getting out of hand. So I loaded up the car and I was off to the recycling depot. Got rid of 7 or 8 boxes of stuff. Phew - that feels good and the living room looks a whole lot better. There's some stuff slated to go to the retreat with me next week, but there's still a couple of things that I need to get in touch with the person who said they ...
