Baton Rouge before the storm from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

I needed to drop off some quilts to a CFAL member in Baton Rouge for an upcoming show. We knew that Hurricane Delta would be coming ashore on Friday and we had plans to be in Jackson, MS. So we combined the two plans and hit the road running: drop off quilts in BR, then beat it to Jackson. 

We were to spend the night and go to the Mississippi Museum of Art. Then race back to Evergreen ahead of the storm. Baton Rouge happened. Jackson did not.

CFAL on Sunday from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

The Contemporary Fiber Artists of Louisiana (CFAL) meeting was a hoot. Other members had attended a fabric dye workshop and brought their pieces to the meeting. They did some fantastic work!

 Even now, looking at the photos I wish I'd tagged along. Truthfully though, I do not need another piece of fabric, or another hobby, or even another project idea. The $150 is prohibitive on my new budget. I'll tell you about that on another post.

Ouch! and the Arts Festival from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

A front porch with the funniest table and chairs.
Did I tell you about the foot accident? Ah yes, I did here.  In a nutshell: Milly accidentally pushed a hitch out of the truck. Onto my foot. Right on the bone that goes to the big toe. A metatarsal, I'm told. I find out, for sure, whether it's broken on Wednesday.


Today  I'll see a doctor to find out why this shoulder hurts so much. The last time I saw him, he gave me a shot right in the joint. Ouch! It has not helped. I'd ...
