A stack o’ Christmas Ideas: Colour & Inspiration Tuesday from Clever Chameleon

Merry Christmas colour board at Clever Chameleon

Done, done and done! Lots of small finishes in this Round-Up of a Tuesday

I have been knocking off lots of little half-done sewing projects lately. A clearing of the queue, both physically and mentally.

Most of these finishes haven’t made it to the blog, although if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen some flash past you in your feed. So now it’s time to clear the decks. I get a stack of things of my chest, outta my head and into my journal-blog record. You get a post full of small projects that you ...

Video: How to Melt Your Old Candle Wax into New Candles from Craftcore

When I started stashing away my nearly empty candle jars, I had good intentions of repurposing the jars for storage or decor purposes.  Before I realized it, I had so many candle jars. There’s always those few millimeters of unusable wax at the bottom that I wanted combine together to form a new candle.

I’ll show you how my husband and I  turned 30 spent candle jars into 4 fresh candle jars.  The yield will depend on how much wax was left in each jar, so your mileage may vary.

Before we begin, just a quick disclaimer to ...

A quilt for Maddie from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I had a great day at the Monday sewing group. It's such a wonderful group of ladies. We had a new guest yesterday and we got to chatting about groups in general. Oh yes - there can be bad apples in every group. I stated (as a joke, but I'm dead serious) that we will NOT allow a bad apple to come forward in our group. Should that happen, the rest of the group will take charge and expel the bad apple from the group! Sounds harsh, but we had issues in the past and it just got really ...

Never give up!!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So yesterday was a better day. NO - it wasn't exactly, but today is a super day and that's all that counts. Let's move forward and forget the bad things in the past.

I didn't even get to the long arm yesterday so if it's not working, I don't know about it. No - I had a few things to do yesterday and those got done and then it was back to this pattern that I'm writing. I didn't design it, and it wasn't done in EQ8. So there were a few challenges ...

Vintage Home BOM from Charm About You

Last year Jo Avery of myBearpaw invited me to join in with her Vintage Home BOM Quilt Along. Each month in Today's Quilter a new block is released and features items from around the home, with a bit of a vintage or retro twist. I chose May's block, with the theme of light and decided to make the candlestick block. This one spoke to me as my name, Lucy, comes from Latin origin and means "light" - I even have it tattooed on my wrist!

The blocks are machine sewn, a few have a small amount of foundation paper ...

in and out #sncaswap from Charm About You

Every Saturday I join Meg and Rachel in hosting the Saturday Night Craft Along on Instagram. It's an amazing community of makers, encouraging each other and crafting the night away! This year we decided to have the first (in what we hope will be at least annual) swap. With three time zones joining in each week, it was quite the task to organise but we mixed it up and became swap mamas for other continents so we could join in the fun!

My swap partner was Jen aka Mum In The Madhouse, who I met this year at the ...
