VERY Sore Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I woke to pain in my chest. Not in my chest but on the skin. I scratched myself last night while sleeping and got more pain then after surgery.  I called the day - don't do day. I didn't do anything today! Hurt to much to do anything.

I did finish up a few things. Helped Patrick unload the dishwasher.  He thinks I over did it yesterday and I would agree to that.

I did find a few minutes to finish the last panel. This is ready to be an ornament.

I also started the next set ...

A Day At Home from Quilting My Way

Patrick went golfing. I stayed home.

I was playing my game on the computer this time and working on my beading at the same time. I was even playing another game on my phone as well. lol

I got a load of laundry in. I'm getting ready to get the clothes in the suitcase for when we head to MI on Sunday. Scott is going to keep an eye on Sophie. She will be mad at us when we get back. But we need this trip for Patrick. He didn't do so good at golfing and now he ...

Hot Weather And Beading from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up before Patrick. He didn't do so good last night. He's still having issues with his chemo, and I keep telling him it's going to be the chemo that kills him, not the cancer.

I walked with Ron for 6 laps today. He was doing better today than he was the other day. Came in and got my beading stuff to take outside. I sat down on the swing and beaded while listening to my book on audio.

The last panel was what I was beading on. I really like this pattern. I ...

Planned Day Didn't Happen from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and enjoying my games. Patrick woke, took a shower, and howled at me. He looked awful! He figured the fired squash he had yesterday was what was giving him the runs. Fried foods just don't work for him. Weird though, French fries seem to be okay. Just not fried squash or fish.  He said he had a rough night, and we were not able to go biking. I told him that's fine. He climbed back in bed for another hour.

I played my games for a bit, then I got the kitchen cleaned ...

Doctors and Grandkids from Jo's Country Junction

Thursday of last week, I was supposed to watch my daughter Kalissa’s kiddos. I had told Kalissa I would but then realized that I had a doctor’s appointment. That left me scrambling. I ended up talking to my daughter Kelli and she said she’d bring her kiddos over to my house and babysit Kalissa’s kids …

A Quick Day At Moms from Quilting My Way

It was quilting Friday today. I headed over to moms at 8:30 am to get there in time to play my war game. It was an hour long, and mom was trying to get me to do a lot of stuff for her. I told her I was busy. She wasn't happy with me. There were 5 of us today.

I worked on the block I have been working on there.

Finished the flower bud. I have 3 more to go. It went fast. I was thrilled to get 4 petals done.

Carmen finished her quilt. The blocks ...

A Weekend Of "Not Much" from Quilting My Way

I know I'm boring at times. Sorry about that. But sometimes, there isn't much to report. So, I decided instead of the usual, "blah, blah" I would wait and do the weekend together.

Yesterday we pretty much stayed home. Didn't have anything to do. So, I baked a bread pudding. It turned out good, but I'm not a lover of bread pudding. Patrick really liked it, so I'm keeping the recipe. We had to walk to the corner store to get heavy cream. I couldn't believe it! We bought a dozen eggs, heavy cream ...

Another Friday from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick was up at 6 am. Guess he couldn't sleep any longer. I went back to sleep and woke a little after he left for golfing.

I worked on a few things. Then I needed to go into town for more stuff. I went to the church to get a quilt, then to Safeway and bought stuff for dessert and lasagna to cook this weekend and freeze. Next stop was the post office and bank. Once all that was done, I came home. Shortly there after Patrick walked into the house.

I worked on the strawberry pie ...

Happy Birthday To Me! from Quilting My Way

Today is my 65th birthday, and I didn't feel a thing! lol

I was up early today. Not for any reason, just up early. Then I went walking with Ron and we did 4 laps. Hoping to get up to 5 laps.

I pretty much played on the tablet all day. I did get a pair of slippers from Phil and Emily. Love them, color and all. They fit great. I've been wearing them all day. My other ones were starting to fall apart.

I wanted a Birthday cake. So, I got a recipe and got to work ...

Finished Another Project from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick and I slept in. We didn't feel like getting up. So, it felt good to just relax and not worry about anything.

When we did get up, we got moving. Then we watched a couple shows. I decided I needed to finish the beading on the berries.

It is now finished. I'm happy with it. It's not the best. I did learn a lot from this piece.

I was thinking I could put this on a "trinket box" but then Patrick said he wasn't that crazy about it. He did like it but ...

Still Thinking Positive from Quilting My Way

This morning it was raining. Patrick decided not to go golfing. I don't blame him. I was able to get up and shower with little help today.

Having heart surgery isn't all that fun. There are ups and downs with going through "grief" at times. I don't know if I'm there yet, but I do know I am moody at times. More in the direction of "let's get done with this!" I'm not in the "poor me" stage. I don't see any need to be there.

Patrick needed gas in the truck and ...

Beading & Dr. Appointment Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, we were allowed to sleep in. lol - AND when that happens, I can't!

I played a few games and was getting ready to meet up with Carol for doing the veteran phone calls again. She texted me, to say she couldn't do it after all. So, I decided not to go with Patrick to check on his appointment to see if the radiology would work on his liver.

While he was gone, I worked on vacuuming and beading. I also kept my eye on my game. Even had the audiobook going. Just as I was enjoying ...

Trip To Olympia And The Casino from Quilting My Way

This morning we had to go to Olympia for another one of my doctors appointments. It went really well. I'm healthy and things are looking good. We talked about everything going on. She's one of the best doctors I've had, and I have had a lot.

After that we headed to Rochester, to the Lucky Eagle Casino. We stayed a little longer than last time, but the slots are really tight. It's frustrating. We were there about an hour and a half. Patrick needed to go. He was getting bored of the rain and bored of ...

Wasting The Day from Quilting My Way

Today was Patrick's cancer appointments. One on zoom and one on the phone.

The zoom meeting was with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle. He was very informative. I liked the doctor. He had ideas of what Patrick could do next. There are things he will try. I had the feeling this is just to keep him alive. We are on 3 years of this. It's hard to listen to at times. But then other times are uplifting. This one, was having me question things in my mind.

Then in the afternoon his cancer doctor. That went well ...

I thought I would continue with a little check-in and let you know how my cancer treatment is going. As of today, I am on day 19 of oral chemo. How’s it going…meh. On Sunday the face acne kicked in. All of the little red dots are the start of zips that were forming. About …

Made Up My Mind - And Stitched from Quilting My Way

This morning Patrick was off golfing. I decided to walk, but when I finally got out there, it started raining. So, halfway through it rained. I decided to keep going till I got my 3 laps in. Came in with a wet coat and pants. lol Yep, it's Washington weather!

Then I played games. When Patrick came home and decided to nap on the couch, I decided to stitch.

I was able to get more stitches in.

Then I remembered I had to check in with my appointment on Friday. As I was doing it, I was getting upset ...

Still Have Pain.....Have Things To Think About from Quilting My Way

Today I was up early. I let Patrick sleep in. Not sure if he is going golfing tomorrow or not. He's been thinking about it, but I think it's supposed to rain again.

We went to my surgeon appointment today. All is good. They got all the cancer and now I need to see my radiation oncologist. I'm not liking the idea of radiation and will see on Friday if I am going to do it or not. I talked with a couple people that had it, and it doesn't sound good for some, and it ...

Zoom Meeting Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and feeling a lot better. I did help out a little with house work. Patrick was on it all day. He even worked on laundry.

This afternoon was our Brazilian embroidery sew group via zoom. It's a fun group and we get along great. It's fun to see what everyone is working on.

I decided to work on my butterfly this time. I started it, and this is about as far as I got. I do think it's going to be a challenge because there is more small black areas. I need ...
