Indian Creek Reservoir from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Every year my family makes an attempt to get together for a weekend of camping, boating, eating and general water fun. Those of us with campers try to get campsites near each other. That usually doesn't work terribly well, but it's good to have two general areas. One can escape to the other area when necessary.

After all, when many people gather in one place, there's bound to be some noise. Unfortunately, not many of us were available this weekend, but three campers and two boats showed up and brought 25 or so people for an afternoon ...

Camping from Polka Dots and Butterflies

I love to camp and this adorable panel hung on my tent on my last camping trip.  This pattern is from the Moda All Starts book All in a Row Again.  The designer is Pat Sloan. Her design had a camper on it but since we use a tent I had to add a tent to my panel.

Camping Fun quilt pattern from Pieced Brain

"Camping Fun" is one of my newest patterns. It measures 58" x 70" and the blocks finish at 12". Easy to make, these blocks are perfect for large prints or fabrics you love but do not want to cut into tiny pieces.

The quilt on the photo features fabrics from the "May the Forest be with You" collection by Dear Stella. Here are some of the fabrics I used:

They are so cute! I had to show them off in large blocks...

It's a Cinch Bag from Becca's Crazy Projects

I've been meaning to make the It's a Cinch Bag from Patterns for Pirates since it was released. It is a free pattern and there is even a video tutorial if you're more of a visual learner. I pulled three fabrics from my stash and got cutting.
I made the strap using a bias binding tool instead of sewing then turning that much tubing. I did use my favorite bodkin to get it threaded into the channel.
I added some lightweight fusible interfacing to the outer bag panels to give the bag a little more structure. The ...

Catching Up from Mama Spark's World

I realize that I have not posted in awhile.   We went camping and my time was consumed with preparing to go and then the actual camping.   It was glorious!   Makes me want to retire even sooner.   We did manage to set a tentative date for my retirement, and I am so excited about that.   June 1, 2020.   OK on to our camping trip.  We camped at a campground in Standish, MI.  LOVED this

$5 Friday: Camper E2E from Wasatch Quilting

We have enjoyed camping together as a family for as long as I can remember. When I was a child we would always “rough” it. As in, no fancy RV, just a regular old tent and sleeping bags! Since I have been married this all changed! My husband has been in the Recreational Vehicle industry for over 20 years, and is always able to take a trailer or Motor home to use. My kids have absolutely loved it! We’re getting ready to head out again, and summer camping brought me to this weeks deal! I have so many outdoor ...

WIPs With Friends from Mama Spark's World

This past week went wooshing by for me!   Hubby took the fifth wheel out on Thursday for a trial camping run.   He has it parked for 2 weeks at a campground about an hour from our house.   I went there on Friday and stayed until Monday.   I brought the kittens up there to stay with him for the weeks.   I will go back and stay this coming weekend.   This was also the trial run for seeing

Camper Remodel from Becca's Crazy Projects

The forward compartment has these silly little flap doors. The compartment isn't silly, it's really awesome. The problem is that that this space used to be part of the bed base for the queen-size bed. That means any sufficient breeze could sneak in through those doors an under the bed. Not a great design to keep the humans warm. When we boxed in this section, we thought it would be a great time to insulate the sides that face the inside of the camper to try to keep the inside temperature controlled.
We used one 25 foot roll ...

Camper Remodel from Becca's Crazy Projects

Here is another installment of our ongoing project to remodel our travel trailer.

My last post showed the built out bed boxes we created to replace the queen-size bed. Last week, we took an hour after dinner to install the hinges, and covers for each mattress. We opened up one of the mattresses (this is the cheapest foam mattress available from IKEA) to make sure my calculations were close enough. Overall, I'm really pleased with this part of the project.
Last weekend we moved on to fixing this section of ceiling. The ceiling had been patched in response to ...

Camper Remodel from Becca's Crazy Projects

We've had our travel trailer for a few years. One of the many things we've learned is that we don't particularly care to share a bed while camping. The queen size mattress is short (this is a trailer thing that makes little sense to me), and we seem to roll into the middle of the darn thing and it isn't a very good mattress. We decided to pull out the cabinets, the bed, and make remake the space for two twin mattresses. To call the plan a plan is to use language a little too strong ...

More Capsules Collections Coming Your Way: Campsite & Raise the Volume from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

Hey Makers!

What’s new? Here in South Florida, it’s bright, sunny, and we’re back to our “normal” weather of 80 degrees (compared to 50 degree “cold” we’ve been having). Which means it’s the perfect time for picnics and even camping trips! Are you a fan of camping?

Here at AGF we sure are! There’s something so adventurous about building your own tent, exploring hiking trails, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories around a fire. We love this life of adventure so much that we decided to create a Capsule collection dedicated to camping. It’s ...

Round Up from Polka Dots and Butterflies

Time to post a round up of all the things I have been working on and some past projects.  First up a braided table runner. I love the pastel colors on this and the braided quilt style goes together so quickly.  This will be on my table during the spring months.

Next up is Farm Girl Vintage from Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet.  I had never done sampler quilting and wanted to make one of each block in her book.  I could get lost in all the different blocks, colors, and shapes. I love this one to pieces ...
