Getting Caught Up - Part 2 from Quilting My Way

As I said before, I've been thinking of posting - but it didn't happen. Thinking and typing are two different things. Apparently I can't do both!

This put us to Tuesday this week.

Man, the days are going and I can't remember one day from the next at times. Don't think I've been this busy since the kids (adults now) were kids.

I woke around 9 am. Didn't get to sleep till about 1 pm, so I decided to sleep in. I noticed Dan was still sleeping and let him sleep. I knew he ...

Getting Caught Up - Part 1 from Quilting My Way

I thought about posting....then it never happened. So, I'm going to do this in 3 parts. Starting with Monday and working my way to today.

Monday started out pretty good. I got everything ready to take with me to the museum. I usually don't take something to work on, but this time was different...and a good thing I did!

Arrived at the museum at 9:30 and Greg had already had the place opened up. So, I just walked right in. Usually I have to use the back door to get in.

I love this on ...

Off To Olympia And Back from Quilting My Way

This morning I was able to get some laundry started before heading up to Olympia. I had 2 appointments and needed to be prepared. So, instead of taking the quilt I'm binding, I took my embroidery.

I was up and out the door by 9 am. Then I was about 15 mins early for my ultra sound. That was okay, because I played a couple games and tried to do embroidery but it was too crowded to enjoy that. So, I played. After the ultra sound I had an hour wait. So, I went to the waiting room and ...

Got Behind from Quilting My Way

I just realized I hadn't blogged in 2 days. Once I forget one day, the next think I know I'm 3 days behind. So, today is going to have 2 blogggings, 1 now and 1 later today.

Yesterday is about as far as I remember, so will chat about that. Even then...let's see what I remember....

The day started out pretty good. No appointments, no this or that. Just needed to do laundry, so got that going. Then I played on my games. I have really been hooked on the game "Lilly's Garden" for the ...

Brazilian Embroidery Meeting...And More from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up on time. I called Cherry and she wasn't going to the meeting because of her gardeners. She is a retired school teacher and I found that she likes all her ducks in a row. She wants to make sure everything goes the way it's supposed to, so she stays home to make sure they do the job right. I can't complain, because in today's world, you almost have to keep on it.

I got things ready and out the door I went. I was there before everyone else. I chatted with ...

A Day Of Waiting from Quilting My Way

The day started out okay. I went walking with Cherry and then we had to head out to Tacoma for my doctors appointment.

We left around 11 am and went to Olympia for my blood tests. I need them for next week. Then it was off to Tacoma for my breathing test. Arrived an hour early....ugh. We waited an hour, then went in to my appointment. My doctors appointment was scheduled for 4 pm but was told when I scheduled that when I was done, I would go in to see the doctor......nope.....ended up waiting till 4 ...

A Little Bit Of Everything from Quilting My Way

Today started out good. I loaded the washer and dryer. Unloaded the dishwasher and then was ready to go to Brazilian embroidery meeting. I had to swing by Scott's work to get another signature for our water group. Then stopped at McDonald's to get my usual ice tea - no sugar.

Arrived at oud meeting before everyone else.  Phyllis and Dina were right after me. Then Sandy and Bev. It seems to be just the 5 of use lately.  Cherry had another one of her dizzy zpells and didn't make it. I worked on the winter rose pattern ...

A Little Bit Of This And That from Quilting My Way

This morning it was Brazilian embroidery day. I headed over there with a couple stops on the way. I stopped at McDonald's and found a friend in front of me. He stopped me and asked about Carol's and her business. I gave him my advise. That's all I could do, since I haven't seen Carol for over a year or more.

Then it was Brazilian embroidery. Gave Sandy some egg cartons. She told me she lost 2 of her chickens while she was gone. Eggs all over the garden, where she left them while she was ...

My Volunteer Day At The Museum from Quilting My Way

This morning I called Cherry and we put off walking till later today. Then I was out the door and off to the museum.

I arrived early and Greg had the museum opened up already. I was about 10 mins early even though I was trying to be earlier. I did the walk through on what all I needed to do for opening. It was just Greg and I for a couple hours. Then we had someone come in. It was quiet a lot of the time, but it was busy other times. We had a lot of people come ...

One Of My Busier Sundays from Quilting My Way

This morning started out busy and the day just stayed that way.

We headed over to Michael's as Patrick liked the shadow boxes for my embroidery. This time we picked up 2 more square frames and one bigger frame. The bigger frame was for my "teapot" that's really not a teapot. It's called "Three Wishes" and I have posted about that one. It's actually a Turkish Pot. Not one I would like to think about - because I really don't want to be reminded of living in Turkey for a year.

Patrick saw this box on ...

A Great Day With Friends! from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and running on top of my schedule. Then I had to go on the computer and before I knew it, I was doing genealogy. Next thing I knew, it was almost time to be at our meeting.

I was a little late getting to our meeting. Brazilian embroidery was already getting started. We had 5 of us today. Cherry couldn't get there because of waiting on her gardeners. I went without her. I was able to get back to working on my rose.

I was able to finish it when I got home. I ...

Quilting With Friends from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and out the door to moms. It was quilting at moms. I arrived around 9:30 am and Hildi was already there. She brought the 2 quilts that Barbara had done. It was so good to have those!

I took out the right side border. That was a mistake, as the fabric is was going in the wrong direction. Plus the stars were supposed to be three on the top part. So, I took the seam ripper with me and took the border apart. I hope to get it sewn back on tomorrow and work ...

Enjoying BE Meeting and Beading from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and almost ready to leave for Brazilian embroidery meeting. I was running a little behind. All because I was reading a book - yep, reading!

I arrive around 10:30 am and was able to sit and have fun. We had 5 of us there.

I finished the 2 leaves that needed to be done. Then I started to add another stem. I'm getting closer to getting this done.

Came home and got laundry going. I was able to get a couple loads done. While that was going on, I was beading. Turned my music ...

A Day With Friends from Quilting My Way

This morning I took my time getting ready for my Brazilian embroidery meeting. Called Sherry to see if we could go separately because I needed to go to moms. She agreed.

So, I headed out to see Ethel to pick up some fabric for Faye. Then I went to the BE meeting and we worked on the detached buttonhole stitch. That is not an easy stitch when one doesn't know what they are doing or looking at. But it's an easy stitch once one gets to know it. I enjoy doing it, I just forget how to get ...

Embroidery Day from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and mopping the floor as well as vacuuming. I wanted to get some cleaning done before I headed out to  picked Sherry up.

We went to our BFF meeting. It was just 6 of us, but was a good meeting. I didn't work on anything but I did teach the buttonhole stitch and the satin stitch which is done the Hungarian way. I didn't take a photo so this blog won't have photos for today again.

We came back home. We had lunch and then took our 30 minute walk. By the ...

Enjoying Friends and Embroidery from Quilting My Way

Today was our embroidery meeting. I needed to go to the bank first. I wanted to go to the heart doctors to get my records for my new doctor. I decided since I was running late, I would do it after embroidery.

We are now meeting at Whalen Quilt Works for Brazilian embroidery. We had 7 of us show up. Three of us stayed till about 1 pm. Usually we leave at 12:30 pm. It might have even been 1:30 pm. I picked up our batting and backing for QOV since Rita had it there for me. We ...

Enjoyed a Day With Friends from Quilting My Way

I thought I could sleep in today....forgetting that our Brazilian embroidery group was coming over. I just don't know why I forgot since I had an email reminding everyone. Got a call that woke me up, then Sandy 2 called and asked about where I lived. Told her and said to come on in and I'll go get a quick shower - never happened, they all showed up right after that. So got dressed and enjoyed a couple hours with the group. I worked on my rose.

It's hard to get a good photo of this with ...

A Day With Friends And A Movie from Quilting My Way

This morning I was changing the table cloth and then vacuuming. I wanted to have things looking good for our meeting. Since Pat had her stroke, we are having the meetings at our house. We'll be meeting again in two weeks. Patrick was working in his garage and outside.

We all worked on our stuff. I worked on the rose. It's coming out okay. I think it needs some more work, but not sure if I want to do that. I'll have to read the instructions more to see what I need to do.

I'll get ...

A Day With Friends - from Quilting My Way

Today I was up and running again. I had to go and drop off paperwork to LeDuc's to get help with fundraising for the QOV group. Then I went to moms. It was quilting day. I took my embroidery and beading.

I had to work on the piece for teaching on Monday. This isn't the best but I wanted to get an idea of what I was going to teach the embroidery group. It turned out better than I thought it would. This will be used for those packets that keep things fresh. It's not very big ...

Not My Best Day from Quilting My Way

Today I was up and out the door.

Patrick and I went to meet up with my best friend from High School. Dale Shaw is a very dear friend of mine. Patrick hadn't met him yet, and since he was "trucking" by, he called last night wanting to see us. We went at 8:30 am to see him. We had an awesome visit at Starbucks.

After leaving Dale, Patrick and I came back home. I grabbed all my supplies for Brazilian embroidery. I really wasn't ready to do embroidery. The good thing was that Phyllis brought her ...
