Quilting Day At Mom's - HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was ready to go after getting a few things done.

I thought about getting tea but decided not to. So, I arrived before everyone else at moms. We talked about all the squares and blocks she's getting ready for the group to work on. There must be enough blocks there to make about 6 quilts if not more. She's working on the red ones, which I need for the quilt downstairs. I'm going to take them to the meeting and see if we could work on putting the top together, ready to sew on ...

An Awesome Day With Awesome Friends from Quilting My Way

Before I start this - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHRIS! Today is my brother's 70th birthday. I wish the best for him!

My day started with me heading out the door and getting a few things done before joining Sandy and Geralyn. First was Rite Aid, but what I needed wasn't ready so, I opted to go back after our meeting. Then I headed to the post office to drop off the family group sheets for Bryan. I need to send him a message that it's on the way. After that, went back to Micheals to find the DMC floss ...

Worked On A Couple Things Today from Quilting My Way

Seems like I'm getting back to working on stuff. Geralyn called and asked if I wanted a ride to the grange. Told her I would, and we went to get iced tea at McD's.

We then went to the grange and had a good visit, visiting all the way there and back too. She worked on her quilt, and I worked on my bonsai tree.

I got a little ahead of myself. I was able to get this far and stopped. I thought it was close to time to leave - it wasn't. So, I added more. I ...

A Day In Puyallup from Quilting My Way

At 7:45 am, Geralyn picked me up. We headed to DB to get coffee and tea. Then went on to moms to take her up to Puyallup to the "Wooly Group" that does wool applique and quilting. I took along my embroidery for this trip. We all met at the library up there. It's the first Monday of the month. Geralyn goes there every month. I'm not interested in going every month. But since mom knows Jeanne Austin, she wants to go every month.

Geralyn was working on her quilt there. It's a wool quilt that ...

Busy Finishing Stuff from Quilting My Way

This morning, I really didn't make plans. I wanted to but then remembered my cousin would be calling me again. I was ready for him today.

So, I started the day playing games. Then I cleaned up a bit. I worked on the laundry to get it done. I wanted to have less to do this week. Then I vacuumed. Was tired of seeing stuff on the floor. I found some drops as well, that I needed to clean since they wouldn't come up with the vacuum.

After all that, I took the embroidery piece downstairs to make ...

Best Laid Plains from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick left for a haircut (thank goodness). I stayed home and played for a bit. Then he came home to head out again. He went to Phils and then moms to fix her quilt frame - and may need to go back and fix it again. It's over 100 years old and someone already messed with it. He couldn't fix it, so he cut the screws off. Now if you wanted to put the feet back on, you can't. So, it's messed up. I don't think there is anything old in moms how that ...

One Of My Betters Day For Stitching from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was ready to leave for embroidery. I decided to get my Birthday free drink, so left early to get there. Thinking it would be busy. The road to DB was not busy at all. I ordered my tea, and they made it cold when I wanted it hot. So, I said, "It was supposed to be hot." Then I told them, it's okay, I will take that instead. The gal asked if I wanted it hot, and I told her I didn't want to waste the drink she made for me, and I do drink ...

Brazilian Embroidery Presentation from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was being lazy for as long as I could. I went out and got Phil some asparagus from the garden. Then we headed out to drop some stuff off for him. Patrick went to Ace Hardware and then back to Phil's.

We then headed to the casino for the money we get. We played a good 5 hours and figured we only spend $100. Not bad.

Came home around 4:45 pm and I needed to leave around 5:15 to pick up Geralyn. We had a presentation at the Rainy Daze Quilt Guild meeting. I ...

A Surprise At Brazilian Embroidery Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I asked who wanted something to drink. We were going to work on the box of beads and the stuff our group is giving out for Seminar.

I stopped at McD's for 2 ice tea and a coffee. Then headed to the grange. I arrived and Sandy was already there. I waited on her as she headed back to her house to get a couple things. I didn't look around, probably a good thing. I went out to help Sandy V with her box of beads. When I went back in, Sandy E had the table ...

Took Mom Out from Quilting My Way

This morning, I tried to sleep in. Just couldn't. So, I was up and ready to play the war game today. It was kingdom against kingdom. Really boring though. That went on for a good 6 or 7 hours. I stopped after 5 hrs.

Debbie stopped by to pick up the fabric she asked about. I gave it to her. After she left, I worked on getting the information on BE, so I could talk about it on Tuesday. I have a presentation to do for that. It's easy enough, I just need to research information and put ...

Mom's Quilt Group Day from Quilting My Way

I got to mom to find Nancy adding the QOV stuff from Anne's to my car. There were 4 bags. Then mom was trying to find the pillow forms. I checked and she has them. I need to let Colleen know.

I worked on my embroidery today instead of quilt stuff. I also checked with mom on getting Ethel's quilt ready to quilt. She wasn't happy with me asking because she was working on her baby quilts for her great grandchildren instead. Then she was also working on our quilt, which could have waited, but she wanted ...

Trip To Puyallup from Quilting My Way

I was up and ready to go to Puyallup with Geralyn. She was driving me up to her Woolie group that meets the first Monday of each month. She doesn't go in the wintertime, but she goes during the spring and summer. I met a gal I didn't know and was around with Jeannie Austin and her friend, as well as Geralyn. She was upset that her mother and sister didn't come. They were expected, but it didn't work out. I took some of my embroidery work and my Santa beaded tapestry.

I really had a ...

Meeting and Movie from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had to get a few things done before heading to moms.

Then it was off to moms but first had to go to the church and drop off the backing for Linda, then went to the post office to drop off a certificate. Once all that was done, headed to moms.

Got to moms to find her on her computer. She wanted me to order some clothes for her. I asked her why she didn't have Chris do that for her when they were there - wrong thing to say. So, I ended up ordering it for ...

If It's One Thing, It's Another from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick wanted to go to the casino. It didn't turn out good. We were there 3 hours, but went through a lot of money. Which was okay, since we are still on the money we won in November, but it's starting to go down again.

On the way home, I received a message to call Donna. When I did, she called to tell me Smiley passed away. Broke my heart. He was a very kind man. I met him when we were bowling about 15 years ago. Then I talked him into helping me with QOV ...

Day At The Casino from Quilting My Way

This morning, I was up and playing my war games.  It's on Thursday's now. I was just glad I could play, since Patrick was waiting on me to go to the casino.

We headed to the casino and played a good 4 hours. We didn't win like we have been, but we are still ahead of the game. I have money on the card now, so it adds ups pretty good. We had fun. I was getting bored playing the same "Good Cents" game because it just wasn't hitting. We tried 3 different "new" games and ...

I'm Trying..... from Quilting My Way

This morning, Patrick was up before me and I didn't care. I wanted to sleep. So, I did.

When I got up, I set the timer for 2 hours to work on my family history stuff. I have paid for the ancestry account and am going to get my money's worth out of it. This time I worked on the WINELAND family.

Barbara came and I gave her 3 quilt tops to work on. I told her there was extra material to be there if she needed it. She took them all and I will need to get ...

Not My Best Day....But A Good Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I slept in. Patrick woke me up to get ready for our BE meeting at the grange. I headed out with the quilts I wanted mom to put labels on and my stuff.

Arrived and Geralyn was right behind me. We chatted a bit before Sandy arrived and then mom. Mom gave me a pillow that her mother made with BE. She asked me a while back if I could fix it. I told her I would.

It's beautiful! I need to find the flower pattern for the center flower. I know one of us has the ...

BE Meeting Day from Quilting My Way

Patrick and Sue went for doughnuts, and I headed to our meeting.  I had to stop at the post office first. And of course, I had to get my tea for the meeting.

Arrived before everyone else. Geralyn and I were there first and chatted. Then Sandy V and Sandy E arrived. We pretty much sat down and chatted. We didn't work on anything! It's been a while since we all have seen each other. We don't know if we will be meeting much for the next month. Sandy is going on a cruise, I think, and ...

Meeting & Nothing Day from Quilting My Way

This morning, I head to the post office to send out Bryan's stuff for the family history. Then went to DB to get my chai tea. Decided on iced tea. Then went on the grange where Sandy from Ocean Shores was waiting. We chatted a bit and then Sandy came with her arm in a sling.  Her surgery went well. We chatted out my family and all the issues there. We chatted about Sandy's surgery and chatted out Ocean Shores Sandy's husband and her wonderful time with her sisters. It was a very good catch-up meeting. I ...

Embroidery Day - AND I DID Embroidery Today from Quilting My Way

This morning, I had to collect everything for embroidery. I grabbed my embroidery bag and forgot my cross stitch stuff.

First things first, I had to stop at the bank, then head to Dutch Brothers for coffee and tea. Then had to swing by moms to get the quilt that was done and give her the puzzle I took apart to return. She wasn't sure who she had to return it to, but she'll figure it out.

Mom wanted to show me the quilt she's hand quilting. This is the piece that we worked on together. She ...
