Father's Day - Without My Father from Quilting My Way

Today is father's day. I took a picture of dad and posted it on Instagram. AND cried. I would have loved to have given him a hug and kiss!

So, we worked around the house till it was time to go to the movies. We decided to go to the movies. I worked on my red heart piece.

We went to see "Then Incredible s" at the theater. It was a good movie! I really enjoyed it. Trouble was, I could see some political stuff in it, but I didn't care.

Got back and enjoyed working on my ...

Enjoying Being Back Home from Quilting My Way

Even though Seminar is still going on tonight, and people will be leaving there today, it was nice to be home again. After two weeks of being gone, I am happy to be home again.

Today I slept in for a little while. Then got up and played on my tablet. It had been awhile since I was able to play on my tablet, since I didn't take it with me.

One of the guys from Patrick's work came and brought his son. They checked out our car and decided to buy it. It was the first brand ...

One More Day And We Head Back Home from Quilting My Way

Today we were up and off to our morning class. We took a class from Debbie Kelley called "Queen of Hearts." We all got a kit and some floss to go with it. We ended up paying a little more because it cost a little more then she thought it would. So, we all were happy to help her out.

(Photo to come later)

I surprised myself by liking the class. I am going to do something different from her pattern, so it will be fun.

We then had lunch with everyone, but we seem to be sitting by ourselves ...

Second Day Of Seminar! from Quilting My Way

This morning Sandy and I slept in. We aren't doing the breakfast with everyone, so we ate in our rooms. I worked out great, because nether one of us are breakfast people - or she's not right now. She's lost 70 lbs so far, and has been doing great! So, she has her food for now. I just don't do breakfast, never really was crazy about breakfast after I turned 20.

We didn't have a class this morning, so we got a few things together, worked on a couple things, and then headed out to Acorn ...

Arrived At Seminar! from Quilting My Way

Today is the day for Seminar! Even though it started yesterday, we arrived today. It was a morning trip that started at 9:30 am. We arrived here in Portland, OR around 11:30 am. It's not far, but the roads can be a pain at times. The roads were good till we got to Jansen Beach area. Then we took a little longer to get past that area to get here.

We arrived and collected our stuff. We got a room next to a couple of TX gals. It's kinda hard to do, when they keep the ...

Had A Good Day With Brazilian Embroidery! from Quilting My Way

Today was our BFF meeting day! It turned out pretty good. We all sat around, working on our stuff, and chatting. I started out working on the flowers in the handle.

I really didn't want to get up this morning. I pulled myself out of bed and got ready to go. Cherrill came and picked me up. She dropped me off at the car repair shop. I picked up the car and went on over to our meeting.

I finished the handle stems. Then I started on the flowers. (more information on the embroidery blog.)

Came home and enjoyed ...

Amazing What All I Did Today....Rare! from Quilting My Way

Today was an amazing day for me. I actually did more things today then I've done in a very long time. I even finished a project!! I'm so thrilled!

I was up and out the door by 9:30 am. I was a little late to our Brazilian Embroidery meeting, but that's okay, there isn't a time clock on each of us. We had about 6 of us show up. I pulled out my "Three Wishes" tea pot. I was able to get a few things done on that as well. It took me a little ...

A Good Day With Friends from Quilting My Way

Today I was running late. Cherrill  drove us to our Brazilian embroidery meeting. It was a good meeting. We had 7 of us show up. The idea of todays meeting was to finish the gifts for Seminar.

\
Georgie and I were working on the jewels on the ring area. We have dangling beads and a clip for keeping our keys handy at the Seminar. I will say, we will not be doing any more beads for a long time. This project actually took 3 months of doing the beads!

Today were put it all together. They turned out great. I ...

A Month Past, And Another To Come from Quilting My Way

Today we (mom and I) slept in. I thought I would stay the night with her in case the phone rang. She can't hear the phone when her hearing aids are out. So, I thought it best to stay with her in case things changed with my father.

We watched some TV and walked the dog before we went up to Olympia to see dad. He hasn't changed. He's stable - and that is actually a good thing. He has a C-Diff infection. So, now they are fighting that.

We had to wear gowns and gloves. Had to ...

Please Pray For My Father from Quilting My Way

This morning we received a call from the Mother Joseph's rehab center telling us my father was rushed to ER at St. Pete's in Olympia. He was unresponsive and dropped his blood pressure. His temperature was 104 degrees.

We arrived at the hospital at 9 am expecting the worst. We gave dad the okay to leave if he wanted to. He told mom, "Not yet." He looked better than he had all week. Yet he has all the hookups back in him. He's breathing through a tube to keep his breathing steady. About 3:30 pm Patrick ...

A Day With Dad from Quilting My Way

This morning started out with Brazilian embroidery. We were working on the beads that go with the lanyard that we are making for Seminar. We got about 75 of them done and I believe we need to do about 375. We seem to get carried away with what we want to do for the Seminar each year. It was good to be with them.

While I was there, my brother Patrick called. (Forgot to wish him a Happy Birthday!) Anyway, he was concerned about dad and wanted to make sure I was going up there today. Told him I was ...

A Full Day Of Bowling! from Quilting My Way

Time change was today, and I was up an hour later than usual. Hate the time change!

I was out the door about a half hour before I needed to be there. I arrived in good time. Then we bowled..... 155, 185, 154 - not so good. I dropped on my average, but then who wouldn't when I bowled like that! Oh, well.

Came home and worked on my cross stitch for a little bit.

I was able to work on the circle star on the right. I really need to get this done and get caught up! I have ...

A Very Long Day In Vancouver from Quilting My Way

This morning I was up and ready to go....Patrick was still sleeping. When he finally got up it was 9 am. So, he had to move a little fast to be out the door by 9:20 am.

We picked mom up. She called as we were pulling into Stillwater Estates. We headed to Vancouver arriving at about 11 am. We were told that dad was going to be transferred to St. Joseph's in Olympia today. We had to pay up front. So, we did that. Then we waited. We were told he would be transferred at 2 ...

One gal had to cancel due to a death in the family. So, I have Cil for a student. We did a one on one teaching. It worked out great for both of us, because I got to think of how teaching would ...

Not My Normal Saturday............... from Quilting My Way

This morning we were up and out the door - yet again. We drove over and picked mom up. We were in the car and pulled out of the drive when mom remembered she had to do something. So, we waited. Ethel took the dog for a walk. So, when mom came out, we waved goodbye to Ethel.

The trip down to Vancouver was quiet and both mom and I fell asleep in the car. I must have slept a half hour because I didn't realize we were off I-5 and on I-205 heading to the hospital. I tried to ...

A Long Drive Down And Back from Quilting My Way

Today we took our time getting ready to go see dad. We arrived about 11 am. Brother Patrick told us we should have taken the day off too. He was there and we didn't need to come all the way down. We did anyway because I wanted to see how dad was doing. He was sitting up and talking when we got there. He looks good. Still talks with a slur but is doing a lot better. He's now getting close to being moved out of ICU to another room. That will probably be tomorrow.

We stayed about ...

Still Off To Vancouver Every Day from Quilting My Way

Figured it was time to update my blog. Dad is still in the hospital in Vancouver, WA which is about 1 3/4 hours south of were we live. The best part is that we live right off the freeway and his hospital is also right off the freeway.

Patrick had to work this morning and I'm getting a few things caught up before he gets back.

Dad is finally recovering nicely. They had to give him 2 pints of blood to get his level up. That helps the body recover faster. They waited to see if he could ...

Amazing How Time Flies!! from Quilting My Way

Today I was actually up earlier then I have been lately. Was ready to head out. Called Cherrill to see if she didn't mind going to Safeway first. Come to find out she had other things to do, since her son and grandson have the cold/flu. She was helping them out.

So, I went on my own. I stopped at Safeway to get a few things, one being a gift for Patrick for Valentines Day. I won't be going out, so needed to do something. Got a Chai tea while I was at it.

Arrived at our ...

Yet Another Saturday Gone. from Quilting My Way

It's amazing how we seem to go around in circles. - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and back again to Monday. I'm starting to feel like a rat going around in the wheel in a cage. Just like a daily routine....get up, work (or whatever), and then sleep, let's start over again, get up, work, and go to bed...here we go again.

Okay, off the wheel. Today started out "as usual." It was a good day.

We went to the movies. Wanted to see "Peter Rabbit." It was pretty good. I did enjoy it ...
