read moreIt’s an auction day here. I’ll be honest, hosting auctions is a lot hard and I put them off as long as I can as this is one way, I’m lazy. But, the Good Deeds Postage Fund is in need of money. It’s been out of money since November but I’ve not had the time […]
read moreThere was an online auction a bit ago. Sadly the auction house is about 50 minutes from my house so I don’t take the time to drive over and preview the sale. I just bid and hope for the best whenever I find something I think I might like. Hoping is what I did when […]
read moreI had another UFO that just wouldn't work for me so I decided to cut it into 4" squares and see if I might be able to create a 12x12" piece to donate to the SAQA Benefit Auction that will take place September 9 through October. All the pieces are 12x12. They will be divided into 3 groups with prices starting at $750 or $1,000 and decrease to $100 throughout each week Studio Art Quilt Associates, SAQA, is an international organization to promote quilting as fine art.

It’s an auction day here. I’ll be honest, hosting auctions is a lot of hard and I put them off as long as I can as this is one way, I’m lazy. BUT, the Good Deeds Postage Fund is in need of money so that means unless I want to pay for everything out of my own pocket, I need to host an auction…so here goes.

With the charity quilt project, I have a lot of expenses.
I started doing the postage auctions as a way to support the charity quilting that happens here through the blog. Needs have expanded so that now finishers are sometimes in need of batting or backing fabrics. I have used some of the auction money to buy batting for finishers as well.
A huge thanks to everyone for being so ...

A while ago I was contacted by Sarah. She was coming my way and wanted to know if I was interested in some of her quilting goodies. She said I was welcome to keep what I wanted and pass on what I didn’t. It was so sweet of her. Just wait until I show you what she sent!!

We are members of two MINI clubs, and the Upstate MINIs of South Carolina is doing a fundraiser this weekend. The beneficiary is the Greenville County Animal Care, a no-kill shelter. You know I am always up for helping animals, so when the call went out for items to donate, I got busy. I combed through some of the quilts, and selected this Stars on Autumn Lane quilt for donation. If you liked this quilt from a previous Autumn Jubilee, you can bid on it!
Then I went to the stamping bench and had a field day with dog and ...
read moreAs you likely know I am holding a fundraising auction here on the blog to raise money for my postage fund to ship out charity quilts.
I’ve had a few questions and wanted to answer them here so everyone has the opportunity to read the same information.
First off…I need to address this…some bids were held because the person who bid had never commented on the blog before. The bids were held in moderation as is standard for any new commenters. I checked the blog periodically yesterday and approved the comments.
What that means for you..some ...
read moreI’ve had things here for quite a while to do an auction with you all again, but I’ve been so hesitant. When I had the last auction here on the blog, it was a miserable experience for me. People didn’t answer emails. People didn’t follow the guidelines. I thought I’d just give up on having auctions but then I had the things here. So I decided to try it one more time. If this goes bad, I’m not doing it anymore….SO READ THE GUIDELINES BEFORE YOU BID. All money from the sale will ...

I haven’t been to an auction since Kramer passed away in June and we closed the antique booth. It’s not for a lack of wanting to go, it’s more of a “am I using my time wisely” and a “do I really want to afford anything” that’s what has prevented me. Also, when I know I can’t resell things if I don’t like them in the spot I envisioned them at my home, makes things a little bit harder.
Well I saw this in the photos of an upcoming auction.
I went into the ...
