Psalm 9: Part 3, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Welcome, and thank you so much for stopping in! Has Spring sprung in your neck of the woods? Here in Southern New Mexico, we have had a mix of hot, cool, and perfect temperatures.  I'm finding recovery slow going, probably due to a sinus infection developing a few days after I was diagnosed with strep.  Talk about a 2 for 1!
This week, I am happy to guest host Melva’s (from Melva Loves Scraps) Sew and Tell link-up. You will find the link at the bottom of this post.
Please grab your favorite beverage, sit back ...

Retreat Fun in Shipshewana from Loose Threads

I just returned from the Jane Stickle Quilt retreat in Shipshewana, Indiana, last Sunday.   I wasn’t much in the mood to quilt before last week, but I am now.  It’s so great being surrounded by such talented quilters.  There were some there that I hadn’t met before, but there are some of us that have been attending this retreat for over 20 years so it’s great seeing old friends again.  I love visiting Amish country.

I took the photo of the horse outside the Emma Cafe.  Emma is a small town just south of Shipshewana.  This ...

Retreating in Shipshewana from Loose Threads

I had a wonderful time last week at the Jane Stickle Quilt Retreat in Shipshewana, Indiana.   The town is a fun place to visit, and it's always nice to catch up with friends that I haven't seen in awhile.   Our group came together over 25 years ago because we were all making the Dear Jane quilt.  I started attending the retreat in 2001.  I've missed a few retreats, but for the most part I've been there.

Here are some photos from around town:

At the side of the building there are several barn ...

Starting Another Project? from Loose Threads

This past Monday I started another hexagon mystery quilt over at Jemima's Quilting Blog.   The first clue showed up in my email Monday, and I'd bought these blue fabrics to use in the mystery.  The quilt will be started in the center, and this is how mine would look.  I'm using 3/4" hexagons.  Well, after I let this sit and percolate overnight, Tuesday morning I decided that I really don't like this.   And I know if I don't like it going in, I won't keep up with it.   So now I'm on ...

A few weeks ago Kitten Stitcher announced a new Stitch Along to begin October 20. The chart is Margaret Doyle, 1850. If your’e interested, you can find it here. I thought about it for the longest time . . at least 5 minutes.
