I enjoyed piecing the Brown Bag Mystery Quilt so much that I pulled another version from my collection. I picked up these winter prints a few months ago without a plan. This was a great way to use them. I played with fabric placements a little and I think I used one less print than the original. Once I find some borders it will be perfect.

On Saturday, I dropped off 21 quilts for binding and 5 pieced quilts. (and some bits of leftover batting)
I filled up my rainbow bag with all of the tops with backs they had. 
I picked up about 25 quilt tops to quilt. Plenty to do until June.

This year I picked my Brown Bag Mystery Quilt based on a single purple print. I had no idea what other fabrics were inside that brown bag or what the quilt design was going to be. I enjoyed this one so much I pulled a set of coordinating fabrics from my collection and got cutting. I still need to sew this one together and find some borders. I cut most of these units using my Accuquilt Go cutter.

Today the Church pauses to celebrate the Ascension of our Lord, forty days after Easter. It is a feast that can sometimes feel difficult to grasp. We may wonder why the disciples would celebrate what appears to be another goodbye. After the pain of Good Friday and the uncertainty that followed Easter morning, surely watching Jesus ascend into heaven must have felt like another loss. I decided to try doing stranded work on the LK150. I had somewhat mixed results. The first swatch showed me I'm still learning the technique. The tricky bit of trial and error is the keeping the trial going with all of the errors. 
I was pretty sure the tension was too tight so I changed that to prevent the dropped stitches. It got better but it still dropped some stitches. This try was much better. I'll have to keep working at it but I think this might not be the best yarn for this project. It is still ...
