I feel like I have once again overloaded myself with stuff. I like to stay busy, and of course, I always like to help out wherever I am needed, but right now things are a little too overwhelming. I plan to sit down (when I have time, LOL), and prioritize what has to be done and make a note of when it has to be finished. 

I haven’t done much sewing for myself, but I do have a quilt hanging in the lobby of a local bank this month. 

I had some major running around to do yesterday, so I didn't get much accomplished, but I did manage to sort more crap. I'm happy to report that only this much remains to sort. 

What's left to sort

Here’s my plan for getting this monster stitched and framed before July 4, 2026. It’s Let Freedom Ring by Lila’s Studio. On 40 count linen, it should be 15-1/2″ x 12″. There are 35,818 stitches. If I stitch 750 stitches each week for 48 weeks, that will give me four weeks to get a frame...

This is another quilt that came from Susan Nixon prior to her death. I am trying to tie up loose ends and honor her.

The top is assembled. I had to create a few blocks to get a complete top. Should have the finish to share in a few weeks.

I heard a funny noise the other morning, but didn't think too much about it, perhaps it was the traffic on the road out the back.  But later in the morning when I went to hang some freshly ironed clothes  away, I saw what it was.  The wardrobe shelf and clothes rail had parted company with the wall, and was hanging by a screw!  Oh dear, what to do now?

Why did I need quilt therapy on the 4th of July?  Long story short...my neighbor asked me to feed her dogs while she was out of town this weekend.  While playing outside with them in the afternoon one of them took off on an adventure.  Two hours later and a lot of driving I found the dog.  I managed to keep my wits about me while looking for him, but horrible things ran through my head.  Upon returning home I broke down and let the bottled-up emotions out in tears.  After calming down I knew I needed some sewing ...

Thank you to my friend Georgie Parish for letting me draw her photo. The composition is amazing, look at the focus and the use of thirds!

This one not only used the same pattern and fabric, but was also done by the same quilter.  She was gifted fabric and decided to use it all.

The only change here from the previous one was the quilting motif.
