2020 Projects Completed from Quilted-Hearts

2020 was a year! Everyone has their own thoughts on how things have been and every state was impacted differently depending on their governors, some good, some bad. It was a year in more ways than one. On the positive side, I have accomplished loads of quilty, sewing, knitting, and crocheting projects. I also finally caught up on my binding which I was way behind on for a multitude of reasons.

 January
January started off slow. I only completed 4 snack mats, but I made progress on other projects while subbing for a friend full days and half days until ...

Happy New Year: Looking Ahead from A Quilting Life

Happy New Year: Looking Ahead featured by Top US Quilting Blog, A Quilting Life: image of fabric in basket

Hello, friends! It’s always kind of bittersweet to write the final blog post of the year: Normally there are lots of fond reflections on travel and gathering of which there was little this year. However, I’m ever an optimist and do feel blessed to have been surrounded by close family and to have had a […]

What a long, strange year it's been from The Academic Quilter

Hello everyone, and welcome to the end of 2020! I'm so happy to say that, aren't you? What a year. There's no reason to go through the litany of why I am so glad to see this miserable year come to a close, is there? I'm betting that many of you are feeling the same way. I was going to say "we made it!" but of course that isn't true for too many families. Instead, I'll just say that I'm grateful that my husband and I remained healthy this year, and my parents ...

Best of 2019 at Busy Hands Quilts from Busy Hands Quilts

This year was entirely different for me than any previous year as a quilter, so rather than featuring only the best of 2019, this is a brief history of all of 2019.

This year I made less quilts than last year and instead wrote a ton of quilt patterns.  So many, in fact, that I lost count and had to look it up myself, and when I saw the number I got so tired that I had to go take a nap.  No wonder I dropped off the blogging bandwagon this year - there was simply no time to do it ...

A lively, lovely year from The Academic Quilter

Hello quilty friends! It appears that we have reached the end of 2019. Whew--we made it!  When this year began, I had no idea the many changes it would bring, both good and bad, for me and my family, for our country, and for the world. What a lot of changes we've experienced! There was a lot of upheaval, but I'm ending this year with a heart full of gratitude and a lot of optimism.  Let's take a look back and relive some happy quilty moments, then maybe make a few small goals for next year, shall ...

2019 - My quilting year in review (and the Peacock Party) from Wendy's Quilts and More

At the end of each year I like to check back against the quilting priorities I set at the start of that year.

The 5 quilts I finished in 2019

I've just had a quick glance down that list, and I've only finished one of the 10 quilts I said I'd work on in 2019!  I haven't been idle, so that can only mean one thing - there were lots of new starts and temptations during 2019.

Let's start the recap with all the new starts that drew me in during 2019:

1.  Shuttles quilt by ...

2019: A Year to Remember from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

As the year comes to a close, we are filled to the brim with joy here at Missouri Star. Truth be told, we hadn’t done much reflecting on what this year truly meant for us until it was time to sit down and write our annual Year in Review. Once, we got started, it seemed the list of things we did this year would never end!

As we looked back over the past twelve months in amazement, we were so touched by the love from our followers, support of our customers, the selflessness within our quilting community, and the ...

My list of distractions for 2019 from Wendy's Quilts and More

When I look back at 2019 and think about the number of quilts I finished, it's very low.  You could count them on one hand.

But then I think about all the other things I made in 2019, and I feel happy with the variety of things I worked on in 2019. If I spent the equivalent of a month on each one of these 9 things, then I would only have had 3 months available for quilting!

Here are some of the non quilty things I made in 2019, with links to my blog posts about them where ...
