What's Up 3-18-2020 Sewing -KAL-Socks and baking bread from Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

It's been a while since I had something to show that's up on the design wall.
Up on the wall is one of three tops.

When my stepmother passed away she had been trying to make a quilt for each of her granddaughters. She has 5 granddaughters and was able to complete 2 quilts 

and was working on the other 3.
I had cut out all the squares she needed because she was unable to. 

So I collected all the squares, partial blocks and completed blocks to go ahead and put them altogether

Making the Ice Box Sample from The Inquiring Quilter

I work at a local quilt shop and the employees are encouraged to make shop samples whenever they can.

If you follow me, you might remember Ice Box, a sample I finished back in October but never blogged about. I believe I shared the top with you after it was made, and it looked like this.

The shop sample was made using fabrics from the Little Tree collection by Lella Boutique for Moda. This collection was beautiful and I was moved to make the sample even though I seem to never have any time!

Goodbye 2019! My Year in Review from The Inquiring Quilter

2019 is coming to an end and I thought I’d take a look back at the year and all I accomplished.

Year 3 as an Island Batik Ambassador

2019 was my third year as an Island Batik Ambassador, and man did I have fun! I love the batiks of course, but most of all I love monthly challenges because they take me to new places. The challenges push my creativity and my designs while also increasing my quilting techniques.
