What's Up 1-21-19 from Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

Up on the wall today I have still the boho ornament afghan with just the 2 rows completed that I shown last night. That's because I haven't worked on it today I plan on it while watching TV tonight. Maybe I can get at least a couple more rows done.
 That's my hope.

I was able to do some sewing.

I did a few more blocks of the blue scrappy.
Speaking of scrappy, which I'm also little late, but did get made was my first RSC 19 block.

This month color is red and I'm ...

Welcome to My Day on the Island Batik Getaway Blog Hop! from The Inquiring Quilter

Hi and welcome to my day on the Island Batik Getaway Blog Hop. Each day during the hop, a different fabric collection is featured. Today, the collection is Fortune Teller.

Fortune Teller Flatlay.jpg

The fabrics in Fortune Teller are as bright and fun as a Mexican fiesta, and I used that idea as a launching point for my quilt design.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get my quilt finished. I actually was on track to finish at least the quilt top, but life intervened. For those of you who follow my blog regularly, you know that my sister was recently diagnosed with cancer ...

What's Up from The Inquiring Quilter

As you know, my big goal this month is to finish three quilts for Island Batik’s Spring Quilt Market booth. The quilts will also be featured in their Spring catalog, and will tour quilt shops as part of an Island Batik trunk show.

Sounds wonderful, but of course there’s a hitch: the quilts must arrive in the Island Batik offices by January 2nd. To make this deadline, I’ve been working day and night (when I’m not in the quilt shop working). I’m happy to report that I’ll get one quilt back from my longarmer ...

After Quilt Market from The Inquiring Quilter

Always in Stitches, the quilt store where I work, recently held an After Market event to introduce customers to our new offerings and it was fun!

First, refreshments were served and wish lists were passed out. Then one by one, we were introduced to the latest goodies from Fall Quilt Market. Every once in a while, the presentation was paused while another goodie from Market was given away to a delighted crowd.

So what were some of the trends? Cats seemed to be everywhere—in quilts and in fabric, including an awesome collection from Island Batik called Feline Fine.

What's Up 10/29/18 from Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

Again October has gone so quickly, my favorite month.
I wish it would last, oh say 6 months..... heaven.
The 2nd week was our anniversary and we took time away to celebrate, then last week was all of Mom follow up doctor visits (which she is doing good). This week has been a little bit of a breather with catching up on cleaning and projects.

One is the Scrappy Nine Patch that came back from the quilter. Now it's time for binding

You can see from this photo that it was done in the Methodist Fan

Time to get ...

Island Batik Challenge: Update from The Inquiring Quilter

As you know, this month’s Island Batik challenge is to make a star quilt. The challenge is called Starstruck.

I’ve been working on the challenge since early in the month. First, I created a design, then I calculated the yardage to see if I could make my quilt. I wanted to use the layer cake of Paisley Dot that I got in my recent shipment from Island Batik, but I wasn’t sure if it would be enough.

It was enough, but just barely. Last week I cut my fabrics and started making the four-patch units. This week ...

What's Up? The Great Outdoors Blog Hop! from The Inquiring Quilter

Been busy this week, but I've managed to get a few things done. First, I did some work on my August Island Batik Ambassador Challenge quilt. I actually did the work twice, making HSTs the wrong size and then redoing them in the right size. That's what I get for trying to do too many things at once! <grin>

Unplanned Absents from Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

I had no intentions of being absent for a month, but life happens.
Was busy in the beginning of the month getting ready for the grandsons visit and helping Mom get to appointments.

The boys were here for 3 weeks and we had so much fun.
Hate that it was so hot already, not good for June and is rough on the pastures and cattle.

Ben loves to build things and while I was getting in a little sewing he decided that he would use my rulers and rolls of toilet paper to make a secret fortress.

Quite a site ...

What's Up 5-14-18 from Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm

I have two projects up on the wall

Been working on the scrappy nine patch and mystery Winterse Hejxes.

I've picked out the next fabric for group of hexagons but haven't prepared them yet. Figure I would take them with me tomorrow.
Mom has an appt.

I had last week finished the binding on this quilt.

Pretty windy today, the quilt just didn't want to stay up.

Did my best at trying.

such a beautiful butterfly.

I think its a Black Swallowtail.

Dog Gone Cute Pillows! from The Inquiring Quilter

My niece Kailani is getting married soon, and her aunties (my three sisters and me) decided to host a shower. For her gift, I decided to make her some pillows with a dachshund on them. Dachshunds are popular in my family so I hoped she would like them.

Dachshund 1.jpg

I'm also making these pillows as a sample for the shop, and I hoped this would push me to finish that project. Anyway, for Kailani, I choose a dog print for the background. For the dog's sweater, I chose bright, fun prints in various shades of blue.

What's up on the design is a couple projects I hope to get completed this month.

One is the Wonky Log Cabin working on 6 more to go along with the 6 I have completed. I am having so much fun making these. I really do need to make more improve.

Plus it is such a pleasure to use up scraps.

Well, today I was going to take photos of Wicked Envy to show you all, but God had other plans...

Sorry, but I'll have to wait for better weather to finish my photo shoot of Wicked Envy.
