» Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I certainly live in a vacuum. The book I'm reading - Looking for Jane?  -- That's a REAL thing, although the book is fiction. This book is even more timely, based on events that are currently unfolding. No wonder there's a waiting list, and I need to finish it in five days, which I will.

So we had a wicked storm pass through on Saturday, and there was NO need for the weather app to know that we would get rain.

I was busy working inside and didn't really know anything was happening. I came out to play ...

Dancing in the rain from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was an exciting morning. I was prepping to leave the house to walk Murphy, and I saw the ominous-looking clouds and grabbed an umbrella. Then I checked the weather app, and it didn't look like we'd get rain for at least an hour. So I left the umbrella in the house, and we were off.

BRRRR!!!!   It was a tad chilly outside. Can you tell me how we went from HOT to cool overnight? I had shorts on but wasn't going back to change.

I stopped to take this picture of a beautiful tree in bloom ...

A winter wonderland from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So what happened yesterday? This is April -- the Easter Bunny has already come and gone, and we get this?

A winter wonderland

Thankfully, the roads and sidewalks are dry this morning, but we do NOT need this snow. The landscapers are supposed to come and open my pond this morning, and I was going to clean up the backyard (from the dogs), and well, I was out when it started to snow. So the yard didn't get cleared. Sigh..................

I'm happy to report that I was able to finish all the quilting on my Cherrywood Challenge with the ...

Sunday, Torrential Rain and Progess on a UFO from Grandma's Red Needle

It's the end of the rainy- and cyclone season, or 'summer' as the locals call it. We have had a couple of cyclones that came pretty close (the eye). Fortunate not much damage to our property, except some banana trees that went down and a huge branch off a tree in our garden. Lots of rain which is very good for the water reservoirs. At the second half of March we got some sunny days and we were able to spend four days doing some long overdue yard work, before it started raining again! Since Thursday we've had ...

Not in my backyard from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

We can only pray that the skunk doesn't move into the backyard like the rabbit. I may just have to buy a gun at that point. Just kidding -- I'm not about to do that, but I would NOT be happy if the skunk decided to oust the rabbits and start to live there. Let's hope they stick to the forest or the neighbors -- I don't care where just not in my backyard!

So far, we've been good with skunk incidents. Lexi did get sprayed once, and I think she learned her lesson, but not before ...

Go Big! from Quilts....etc.

The Arkansas Traveler block was delayed for two days as I wanted to have the fabric ready to try out cutting – and I wasn’t disappointed that it finally arrived late in the afternoon yesterday.  I didn’t recall seeing any where that a flying geese die and cutting mat would be included in the box […]

The perfect sewing space from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Have you ever had one of those days? I did NOT sleep well the night before, and it was a struggle all day. I can hear you asking, "why didn't you just have a nap?" Well, this happened. I went to spin class and enjoyed the steam room. Then home to have breakfast and walk the dogs. I was only partway through Murphy's walk, and I got the phone call that MIL's new fridge was on the way. Since DH is out of the country, it was my job to get to the apartment.

Instead of 30 ...

Snowed in! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- today is going to be just about snow! We had a massive snowstorm yesterday and went from Winter watch to Heavy snowfall to Blizzard warnings on the weather app. Oh my -- whatever did we do before we had the weather app? OH -- we looked out the window or went outside to check the conditions!

I was optimistic when I woke up and saw the snow, but after about one hour, I realized that the snow was coming down hard and fast, and there was NO way we were going to hit the roads. Heck -- it took hours and hours ...

Snowed in! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The best-laid plans get thwarted by the weather! So we have NOT had a significant snowstorm all winter, and I've been quite happy to stay tucked in my house and not go anywhere - well, nowhere really to go, so the weather didn't matter. Then the DAY that I wanted to go somewhere and had planned to go somewhere, we got a massive snowstorm!

OK -- I was tempted to venture out, and then common sense prevailed. Why should I go out NOW in rush hour traffic when I can wait a couple of hours, sew with my friends on ...

Twelve Days from From the Strawberry Patch...

As we close out those twelve days of Christmas it's a good time to reflect on the holidays and get back to that guiding word and how I plan to respect it in 2022. I did receive two Christmas gifts for use in the sewing room that I had asked for from Mr. Goodneedle, I'm eager to try them out and will report on them after the next few days; those will be spent taking Christmas down and packing it
