I didn’t do the best last month with my Dirty Dozen UFO Challenge.  I didn’t fully finish a single quilt.  That is not how I want to be doing with this challenge.  So last week, I told you about a big push I did…

I told you that I didn’t finish a Dirty Dozen quilt for August…I’m a little sad about that.  Then I decided to do an assessment of how I’ve done for the year.

It’s a Crooked Courthouse Steps quilt with Mickey in the middle of the blocks.

I jumped this project ahead and pulled this as I needed to finish it for Scotty’s birthday.  It’s done and gifted.

If you’ve been reading the blog over the last month you’ll know that I’ve been participating in the Dirty Dozen UFO challenge.  Mary at Chicken Scratch Country Threads is hosting.  She asked that whoever wanted to join in could number their unfinished project 1-12 and then each month she picks a number and that’s the project you work on to try to get finished.

Well me, being the over achiever that I can sometimes be, has WAY more unfinished projects than 12 so I made up 2 1/2 lists.  Yep.  I had that many unfinished ...

When I was cleaning in the sewing room I realized how many UFOs I have.  I don’t mind the UFOs that I have.  So many were cut out over nap time when I was doing childcare.  Cutting out quilts was the thing I could do that was quiet while the kids were sleeping.  It made good use of my time…but now, I have quilts that are cut out that I need to be sewn.  It’s not a bad problem to have, but, it’s time.  They need to get sewn.

Check out my finished quilt…Yes…it looks like this morning’s quilt but it’s not.  This is the leftovers quilt so the colors and pattern are similar.  I actually like this less organized version much better.
