Good morning, my friends. It's so good to be back in Blogville. We're in Billings, Montana, moving on to Miles City, Montana, this morning and then on to North Dakota the next day. So far, the trip is going well. We had a little scare with our refrigerator a few nights back. It started beeping, as it does when the door is left open too long. Without getting into the details, it displayed an error code. Mike watched a couple of YouTube videos and used the magnet from my "needle nanny" to fix it. Good teamwork, no? So ...

read moreLet's just get started right away on our time traveling posts. I was glad I thought to look ahead at the website for Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. As it turns out, there were two guided tours and each one required a ticket. When I tried to make reservations several days ahead, the longer "Classic Tour" was sold out. As it turns out the "Paradise Tour" was just fine, and we enjoyed it. Here's the information about the tour we took.

Good morning, my friends! It's been warm where we are, although I can hardly complain. Yesterday was only the third day we've turned on our air-conditioner. I had big ideas about finishing the borders on the Ties & Tails quilt yesterday. I'd forgotten that I needed to make a trip into town to deliver some parcels to the post office. Mike had business in town too. We ended up getting lunch at a sit-down restaurant, which took forEVER!
When I got home, the kitties were purrturbed. They were ready for sewing. Smitty was tapping his little kitty paw ...

read moreIt was a lazy morning for me yesterday. After breakfast, I spent some time on my slow-stitching. Sometimes, it makes me sleepy in the way reading a book can cause me to nod off. Eventually, I slid down on the couch for a morning nap. It was late by the time I woke up, and I briefly considered not doing my workout. When I get into arguments with myself about whether or not to exercise, I realize I'm on a slippery slope to quitting altogether, and so I forced myself to do it. It meant I didn't get ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. It was a busy day yesterday trying to achieve some level of normalcy. I'm happy to report that I'll be able to pick up where I left off when we were in our previous state of normal. Of course, "normal" is a relative term. There was a salad to make for last night's delightfully delicious dinner with Erik and Mae, then watering the thirsty flower pots, then...and most dreadfully...unpacking the RV. It's all done now. By late afternoon, I was able to sit and relax and take the first stitches ...

read moreIt was a hot day yesterday. It reached 93°F here at the Three Cats Ranch. We're generally around ten degrees cooler than in the valley, and so you know it was even hotter in the lowlands. We're expecting a little cooler weather today and through the remainder of the week. The kitties spent most of their day cooling their tummy furs on the concrete in the shade of the house.

Okay, so let's back up to our drive through Titus Canyon again. One of the things I most wanted to see along the way was the ghost town of Leadfield. There are ghost towns everywhere in Nevada. As I've mentioned previously (and over a period of years), there are many stories of some individual or some company going boom and bust here in the harsh environment of Death Valley. Leadfield is another example of that.

Good morning, my friends! I'm so happy to be sipping my coffee while we chat this morning. It's been a while since we've spent a morning together. Today I'll be writing the first of three time traveling posts, backing up a full week to when we took a drive through Titus Canyon. But first...let's back up to a day earlier when we made our way from Pahrump to Death Valley, a drive of about two hours. The colors of Death Valley begin to appear fairly quickly along this road. It's a pretty drive ...

I can't tell you how many unanswered questions I have roaming around my skull right now. I'm always Googling this, that, or the other thing, to find out more about it. Not possible for the past week, and so you can only imagine how many questions I've asked without being able to access an answer. You can only imagine how many times Mike and ...
