2 for Roberta from Night Owl Quilting

Roberta brought two bold and beautiful quilts for quilting.  First up is Color Jolt by Sparkle Stash.

Roberta selected the Fluffy Clouds pantograph and I love the vibrant green Fireside that she chose for the back.

The second quilt is called Gemini by Villa Rosa Designs.  This one is beuatiful with Batiks on the front and the back.  I suggested that Roberta consider black batting for this one with the dark backing and black background.  She agreed and we used the Quilter's Dream Midnight poly that I always have on hand.

Roberta chose the Sweet Pea pantograph and we ...

Cross and Crown from Night Owl Quilting

This beauty was made by Marlene for one of her daughters.  The pattern is a traditional block called "Cross and Crown" and this pattern is available free from Quilting Daily here.  It was originally published in McCall's Quilting in May/June 2017.

The pattern is Fat Quarter friendly and Marlene said she used a selection of Corey Yoder fabrics.

Marlene selected the Sweet Pea pantograph and I think it compliments the pretty floral prints perfectly.  Marlene found the perfect color of Fireside backing to match the grey squares on the front.

Dance from Night Owl Quilting

This fun quilt with a bit of a groovy retro vibe was brought to me by Brittney.  The pattern is called "Dance" and is from Melissa Marginet.

Brittney selected the Sweet Pea pantograph.  I think it adds a nice delicate touch and some great movement. I love the flannel backing that Brittney supplied.  It is from the Gloria line from Art Gallery fabrics and it felt wonderful.

I know Brittney made this quilt for someone special and I'm sure the recipient will be thrilled to receive it!

Strickland Quilt from Night Owl Quilting

I recently had the pleasure of quilting this pattern test of the Strickland quilt for Marlene.  This one was lots of fun to be a part of because the pattern designer is Marlene's daughter Janice of Prairie and Ocean

The use of multiple sizes of Half Rectangle blocks is quite unique and makes for some really interesting shapes.  Marlene saw some geometric quilting on one of Janice's samples and wanted a different look for hers.  We took a cue from Marlene's favorite print in the quilt and went with the Sweet Pea pantograph.

The curl in the ...

Danish Star Fling from Night Owl Quilting

The Star Fling quilt was made by Reneta.  One of the exchange students that is staying with her this year gave her a Fat Quarter Bundle of Danish fabrics.  Reneta paired those fabrics up with some bold blenders from here in Canada to come up with this unique collection of fabrics.

Reneta chose the Sweet Pea pantograph and we decided to use a medium yellow thread for the quilting.

Pie Cherries from Night Owl Quilting

This fun quilt belongs to Amy.  The Pie Cherries block is from the Farm Girl Vintage book.

Amy has belonged to a block swap group for a number of years.  Amy picked this block for her turn and the others members of the group sent her blocks in a variety of fun red fabrics.

Amy selected the Sweet Pea pantograph and I think it comes together for a pretty springy finish.

Shelia's Disappearing Nine Patch from Night Owl Quilting

I recently finished this lovely king size Disappearing Nine Patch for Shelia.  She told me this quilt will be for her and she used fabrics and scraps from her stash.  Her color palette is very pleasing and looked great in my room.

Shelia chose the Sweet Pea Pantograph and used one of my Northcott Stonehenge wide backings in navy to complete the look.

I used a nice medium gold/beige thread that looked nice on all of the fabrics.
