Foxes, Frogs, and Flamingos. Find them all at Funky Friends Factory! from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

When I was a child, my grandparents gave me a brand new stuffed bunny for my birthday. He was white with blue and purple ears and thus, I named him Jelly Bean. For many years, he was my good friend. We read bedtime stories, snuggled together for movies, and hosted the best tea parties.

As I grew older, I played with him less and eventually stored him away. Today, Jelly Bean sits on a shelf in the back corner of my closet, but I still hold his memories dear and I cannot bring myself to get rid of him.

A Squared Approach: Grid Fabric Collection from Art Gallery Fabrics-The Creative Blog

I remember walking into my "Sacred Geometry" class in art school and being so confused by everything our teacher was explaining for the first, few weeks. The class involved a lot of math and applying it to creating art, and well, math and I aren't the best of friends, haha! It wasn't until a few weeks when he started breaking down how artists during the Renaissance period used a special grid to create their paintings that I suddenly become super intrigued and wanted to know more and more! The special grid was called "The Golden Ratio" or also ...

Kite Season Quilt from The Cutting Table Quilt Blog - A Blog for Quilters by Quilters

Kite Season Quilt

Rumor has it that in 18th century Japan, kites were totally banned. The reason? Folks were having so much fun flying kites, they weren’t getting any work done. I have to admit, I can relate. When I get excited about a new quilt, everything else fades away. The dishes can pile up in the sink, the lawn can grow knee-high, but I’m happy as a clam in my sewing room with a stack of freshly pressed quilt blocks.

This week Jenny is working on a new pattern that is so cute, you may have to put your chores ...

Warm Days, Cool Hues from From the Strawberry Patch...

Ever since we returned from our recent adventures, both up north and our more local grandchildren-focused ones, I have been playing catch-up; there's been little (if any) actual time in the sewing room! I did need to spend some time constructing the latest block-of-the-month before the next session rolls around already--next week! So go the days of summer! This year my LQS is focusing on Deb
