Oh Scrap! : Green is the Color for May from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

Looks like I will be getting out my green scraps this month.  Dark green is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color for May.




But before I get out my green scraps, I thought I would finish up sewing my green selvages.  I already had the lime green started but I spent this week finishing all the other greens.




To date I have 6 colors finished.  I haven't decided if I am going to just add blues and purples or if I am going to add some neutrals like black, gray and brown to the mix.  I certainly have enough selvages ...

Oh Scrap! : Insanity from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

First, sorry if I didn't respond to some of your comments.  For some reason comment notifications quit coming to my inbox.
I think I have fixed the problem and it looks like everything is back to normal!



A couple years ago, I decided to start saving fabric selvages.  I have been tossing them in a big laundry basket and not really giving them any thought. Now I am not one to store things I never use - so while I am stuck at home, I decided to get them out and see what I could make with them.

Selvedge Quilt Finished from Romany Quilting

This is my first year taking part in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and I decided to make two different blocks each month, one of them being selvedge Asterisk blocks.   Each month I stitched two selvedge blocks in the suggested colour, except for black and dark brown, which I didn't fancy.  After sewing the blocks together, moving them from here to there till I was happy with the colour placement, I pinned the top to a fleecy backing and stitched in the ditch between the blocks for stability.  Then I decided on spiral quilting across the quilt.  I was a ...
