Ball & Chain Quilt from Expect Moore

This month’s new quilt is the Ball and Chain Quilt. It uses the Scrap Crazy 6 Template from Creative Grids. The Scrap Crazy 6 template is designed for using scraps, but you can also use yardage like I did here to make a more curated looking quilt. And, these Scrap Crazy 6 Quilt Templates allow […]

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

Sometimes when I make a block I wonder if I have missed an opportunity. I'm still not sure how all of these are going to become one quilt but I'm looking forward to it.

If you are on the fence about trying out this pattern you can check out the great images folks are sharing on Instagram under #100days100blocks2021

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I approach each block individually. I pick a single fabric and work with it to make that block. I'm not sure how these are going to go together but I'm hoping it all fits together. 100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I love using up little pieces of leftover fabric to make these blocks. I'm still pulling from scrap bins and I think this will be a great quilt. I post these every day (except that one day when I forgot until the following day) on my Instagram. I tag all of the photos so you can easily find other makers.

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I suppose I should start looking at layout options. Some of these blocks would be great in a one or two-block quilt. It's great to add them to my block library.

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

Week number two of my 100 Days 100 Blocks quilt along project.
I'm continuing to work through the 100 blocks. I've been pulling fabrics from my scrap bins. I'm sure this won't make much of a dent in my collection of scraps.

I'm not going to add individual photos to this post. I also will only update with a collage in the future. If you want to see any of these in greater detail you should check out my Instagram feed. You'll get updates daily for this project, assuming I can keep up. I ...

100 Blocks 100 Days from Becca's Crazy Projects

I'm going to try to do a weekly update for my 100 Days 100 Blocks quilt along project. This is the first of those updates.
Last week I finished blocks 1-4.

I'm going very scrappy with this quilt. I'm using squares and strips I have left over from other projects. I have no idea what layout I'm going to use when I finish them all. It is an adventure!

Odds and Ends from Becca's Crazy Projects

Where does the time go?
I picked up this fun machine quilting book a couple months ago and I keep telling myself I'll actually write a review. Maybe next month.
I succeeded in getting block number one of 100 Days 100 Blocks completed. Wish me luck I can stay on track. That's it for today. Enjoy your weekend.

Challenging Myself from Becca's Crazy Projects

Every time I make a sampler quilt I tell myself I won't do it again.
Along comes 100 Days 100 Blocks and changes my mind before it has even begun. Image from Gnome Angel's website. I will admit I may have been influenced by Hunter's Design Studio. She shared her version on Instagram and it is delightful. I've been trying to prepare by cutting a few blocks so I'm ready to sew on day one of one hundred. I'll try to keep up. My guess is I'll post to Instagram as I finish ...

PQ 12. 6 Ab Intra challenge from Sew Sunshine

So Project Quilting 12.6 challenge is Ab Intra -Latin for 'from within'.  Once again I wanted to combine scraps for #nationalquiltingmonth #sewthescrapoutofmarch all month long. I thought of a couple things I could do but came back to starting with my favorite color combo black and white...and use prints I had in my scrap pile. The center sort of represents me and then building bits around is kind of like building on experiences. Using scraps was perfect for that because you never know what you will run into.

I got out some cardboard and did some measurements to ...

Pool of Stars... from Sew Sunshine

"Pool of stars" updated
washed and crinkly

"Pool of Stars"  Kona pool that is...get it?  and the big corner bits from my jar of scraps. Kona pool is one of my favorite colors on the Kona card. Just working with all the multi colored bits proves that pool goes with everything.  I just love it.

45" x 50" approx
Stash fabrics
Machine straightline quilting

All the larger bits from my jar after I sorted them. I used 110 pool 5" squares and  needed 220 bits. Not a problem.

Any size and any shape works

A few bigger scraps on ...

Notorious from Becca's Crazy Projects

I finally took the plunge and started quilting this little piece. This was inspired by a cross stitch design created by Prudence Kitch. If you are a cross-stitcher you should check out their snarky little darlings. Get your own copy of Prudence Kitch - Notorious on Etsy. If you want to see some of my progress shots check out this post
The background is quilted with this flower motif.
The dress is quilted with a variegated thread to make these swirls.
I added some detail to the lily.
The swirls make their way up the bodice.
Nothing fancy for the gavel ...
