Scrappy Patches Table Runner In Progress | Finished or Not Friday Linky Party from Busy Hands Quilts

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

I've several projects in progress, but no finishes this week.  The last kid with wisdom had his teeth removed this week, and we're glad to be past that.

I used the half jelly roll of Snowberry that came in the July Sew Sampler box to make some Scrappy Patches quilt blocks.  I've been wanting to play with fabric placement to create different looks with this pattern, and this is a trial run.  I like the diagonal sections of blue and cream.

The ...

I still love Quilting! from Angel Scraps Quilting

Here sits my main current quilt project, at the bottom of a pile, in the corner of the sewing room.   There's not much left to do until I can call it a finish!  I need to get my focus back on this quilt and finish it and I'm going to get it back out and set it up for the remainder of the machine quilting

Here's the top from a post about 2 and 1/2 years ago. I plan to post some progress on this quilt soon!   I started on it a looooong time ago.  It ...

Works in Progress | Quilt Alongs from Busy Hands Quilts

I am currently working on three quilt alongs.  First up is the Magnolia Mystery Quilt Along, hosted by Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs.  I'm making a queen size using Benartex rainbow and three Kona grays.  August's step was cutting.

I've also cut into these Sweet Marion jolly bars for an upcoming Fat Quarter Shop Quilt Along.  Such delicious sweetness!  I'm adding a border to increase it to a twin size.  #jollybarjazzquiltalong #fqsquiltalong

And my blocks for the Scrappy Rainbow Star Quilt Along hosted by Diane at Butterfly Threads Quilting have temporarily stalled.  The thought of making ...

Summer Star Scrappy Sew Along Progress - Background Blocks from Busy Hands Quilts

I'm participating in the Summer Star Scrappy Sew Along hosted by Diane over at Butterfly Threads Quilting, making a planned quilt rather than a scrappy version.

The background 9-patches are made from Moda Cross Weave in black and graphite.  There are 64 background 9-patches and 88 colored 9-patches here!

Summer Star Scrappy Sew Along Progress from Busy Hands Quilts

I'm participating in the Summer Star Scrappy Sew Along hosted by Diane at Butterfly Threads Quilting.  I make a rainbow whenever I can, so my quilt is planned rather than scrappy.

Here's my colored 9 patches.  Each colorway has 9 Kona cotton solids in it, and there are 11 9-patches in each pile which is enough for the star and the border sections.  I worked it out in EQ7 to see how many of each block type are needed.  This week I'll be working on background blocks.  Stop by again to see the quilt come together - it ...

Quilts in Progress from Lovin' Life At The End Of The Dirt Road

I apologize if ya'll went to read this post and it disappeared. I think our 8 year old computer is finally nearing the end. I'm still running Windows Vista on it!  And now that it is beginning to eat blog posts, it is time to let it go. We do have a laptop, but all of my 25,000 plus pictures are on the PC. Most of them are backed up on an external hard drive, but it's time to back them up to

How to Keep Track of Pieces When Making a Postcard From Sweden Quilt from Busy Hands Quilts

This mishmash of Kona Cotton happiness is actually very organized.  Have you ever wondered how to keep track of all those pieces without a design wall?  The king with 6" finished HSTs is made with 646 triangles, so organization is essential.  Here's how I do it.

Layout all of the cut triangles in numerical order in stacks as shown below.  There are 36 colors, so there will be 36 piles of triangles.  Refer to the POS numbered block chart found here.  Label the rows A B C and so on.  Label the columns 1 2 3 and so on ...

Star Crossed Rainbow - a FREE Pattern! + Finished or Not Friday Linky Party from Busy Hands Quilts

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My Finished and Not Finished are two Star Crossed Rainbow lap quilts.

Last Sunday I guest blogged at Confessions of a Fabric Addict during the Hands2Help Charity Quilt Challenge and featured Star Crossed Rainbow in my post.  This is a free pattern in my pattern shop.

And here is the delicious backing.  It's Benartex Gradation in Rainbow.  It looked very weird on Craftsy's site, but I ordered it anyway quite awhile ago.  After I pulled it out for this project, I went ahead ...

Finished or Not Friday {a Linky party!} + Rainbow HSTs from Busy Hands Quilts

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My Not Finished is an ombre rainbow of 560 - 2" HSTs using Triangles on a Roll papers, using the entire rainbow of Boundless Ombre colors.  My plan is a wall hanging in a graduated rainbow.

I took this project to work on while I was in Arizona at my parents' house because it doesn't require a 1/4" foot; just sew on the dotted lines.  Having some fabric to play with really helped during the three weeks I was missing my sewing room.

The ...

Bits and Bobs, and all the Colors! from Fabrics 'n Flowers

A couple weeks ago I showed you my little Flowering Snowball quilt in progress…I was experimenting with how to make the block without using the usual templates. It worked out, but my blocks were a teeny bit wonky so I had to add sashing to square them up a bit. WELL! This little top is […]

I swear, I still quilt. from Kathleen Quilts

Blog posts have been a bit unreliable lately. I basically decided that there is enough in my life, I don’t need to stress about a blog. So I don’t.

I’m quilting right now on a secret quilt </p>

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My Not Finished is a pastel twin Rainbow Wave quilt.  This quilt top and matching backing have been in my closet for oh, at least three years, so I think it was ready.  {pats self on back}  I quilted it yesterday and plan to bind it today, and then it will be listed for sale in my Quilt Shop.

The most viewed link from last week was these adorable crocheted hats by Snowcatcher!

Finished or Not Friday {a Linky Party!} + Kite Flight Quilt in Progress from Busy Hands Quilts

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My Not Finished is a custom Kite Flight quilt in the Summer palette.  This kit is available at Craftsy.  I've completed the full blocks and have begun the side setting blocks.  It's going together much quicker than the red version I made because I'm pressing the seams open and pinning rather than pressing and repressing to try to get the seams to nest together.

The most viewed link from last week was Preeti's Angel's Midnight Garden!  It's  a great ...

Design Wall Monday {Sweet Red/Blue Baby Quilts!} from Busy Hands Quilts

On my design wall today is a patchwork baby quilt in red, pink and blues.  These are some of my favorite fabrics, and I'm using them!  I'm in the process of cleaning off my cutting table, and these squares have been there for oh, 6 months or so, but I cut them about three years ago.  Here's to progress!!

This quilt will soon be for sale in my Quilt Shop with the option of a baby or toddler size.

Fiber Tuesday {a Linky Party!) from Busy Hands Quilts

Welcome to Fiber Tuesday where you link up your fun fiber projects!  I'm hosting today's link-up party for Mel over at The Quilting Room

I'm working on two 30" table toppers which are made from 28 jelly roll strips with very little leftover.  A tutorial may be in the works.  This project began as an inquiry from one of my husband's aunts for a winter table topper.  I had on hand just the jelly roll for it, something that said winter but didn't scream Christmas so it's usable for a longer amount of time ...

Finished Or Not Friday {a Linky Party!} + A Sneak Peek at Castle Dreams! from Busy Hands Quilts

Welcome to Finished or Not Friday where you can share your finished {or not} projects!

My first Not Finished is my next quilt pattern, Castle Dreams!  Here is a sneak peek! The pattern uses 10" squares along with yardage of two fabrics and a background fabric.  This quilt is made from Handmade by Bonnie & Camille with a background of Moda Cross Weave in black.  I will be using this as a background fabric again.  It is so soft!

My second Not Finished, which contributed to my first Not Finished being not finished, is this play quilting on a Statler computerized ...
