If you love quilting, chances are you’ve heard about quilt guilds.

Guilds have long been a place where quilters gather to share ideas, learn new techniques, show off finished projects, and connect with others who enjoy working with fabric and thread just as much as they do.

For many quilters, joining a guild can be a great way to stay inspired, learn new skills, and make friendships with people who understand the excitement of a new quilt project.

But finding the right guild — or even finding one at all — isn’t always easy.

Let’s talk about a few ...

How to Make Dresden Plates Using a Dresden Plate Ruler from Patchwork Posse

Dresden plates are one of those classic quilt blocks that look fancy but are surprisingly doable—especially when you use a Dresden plate ruler. If you’ve ever admired a Dresden and thought, that looks like a lot of work, this method is about to change your mind.

Using a ruler takes a lot of the guesswork out of the process. The blades come out consistent, the curves line up nicely, and the whole thing just feels more predictable. And predictable sewing is good sewing.

A close-up of a quilt featuring a star pattern with orange, pink, and white polka dot fabrics in the center, surrounded by navy floral and white background fabrics. Stitching details are visible throughout the quilt.

This block uses the 4-at-a-time flying geese method, which means it comes together quickly once you get into the rhythm. It’s a great chance to get comfortable with accurate trimming and pressing so all those star points meet up just right.

In the video for this month, I ...
