FLOURISH: New QAL from Nestlings By Robin

Well-Loved Ladies was a Huge success
and we still have many that are
working on it because it really
isn't a quick project:)

As promised many moons ago,
a smaller more attainable project
would be next so that those
intimidated or not up to the
task of WLL would be able to
join the quilt along fun and
sharpen their skills for when
they are ready to tackle WLL.

Twice a month starting July 1st,
I will present a tutorial via a
post here & FB that prepares us
for the next step in the quilt along.

You will need ...

Busting the UFOs! from Espritpatch

I am still into the big tidy up/clean up/declutter activities here, partly why I am sewing so little. Part of the exercise has been to go through "parked" projects and decide whether I really wanted to keep them/I had hope to finish them one day or if I had completely fallen out of love or they would require so much more that I know deep down that I will never complete them.

One of the projects that came out of its box was my "Impromptu" quilt, which has been on my finish-along wish list for a long ...

Hello and Happy Summer! I hope you are all doing well since my last check in. Life has been very busy here with the kids, sports, friends, the end of school and trying to meet all of my work deadlines. I thought I would pop in quick to tell you about a couple of those work related things.

First of all, my Snowed In collection with Riley Blake Designs is hitting stores now! It was such a fun line to create and I’m really excited to have a holiday/winter line out again. It feels like it’s been ...

My Favorite Color is Moda Sew Along - Blocks 7, 8, & 9 from twiddletails

And there goes another month! Is it just me or is time flying faster than usual?

This month's block is really simple. You'll make the same block in 3 different sizes.

Disclaimer: Sometimes I will change the pattern instructions a little bit because a different way works better for me. This does not mean that the pattern won't work exactly as written. If you follow the pattern, your blocks will still turn out fine.

Tips/Instructions:

1. Pin the larger half square triangles before sewing. It really helps keep the layers together.

2. You can do a ...

Flabellum from Espritpatch

The Flabellum quilt-along started a few weeks back and guess what? Yes of course I am already behind. I was on time to cut all the pieces but then I was working on other (non-quilt) projects so I never started the piecing on time. Finally last week I went through the chain piecing to make all these garlands from week 1.

Week 2 was all about cutting off the garlands and ironing the strips....

Week 3 was about making the building blocks, 36 units, which I finally made this week-end

In week 4, we are making the blocks, all 9 ...

A finished top from Espritpatch

Well, it didn't take very long after all and I didn't want it to be pushed to the bottom of the pile so I assembled all my HST squares into a quilt top, after rearranging them about 20 times!

I like the look of it. Now to find time to quilt it and to select a fabric for the backing. I am so happy this is finally outside of its box on the road to the finish line.

Another Quilt Along! from twiddletails

In all honesty, I do not need another quilt-along in my life. This one is too good to pass up though.

Moda is hosting a this quilt-along using the new book by Susan Ache (@yardgrl60 on Instagram):

"Sampler Spree: 100+ Fresh & Fun Quilt Blocks".

This is a scrappy quilt. Every week, we will make 10-12 blocks. Every week will be assigned a different color, for instance the color for week 1 is blue, so we'll make all 10 blocks using blue scraps.

You can, of course, use any fabrics and colors you choose. A couple of layer cakes would ...

A new quilt along and some quilt blocks from The Crafty Quilter

Happy Friday! I have some updates to share (including a fun new quilt along) but first, I wanted to thank you for your kind messages from my recent Mother’s Day blog post. I always hesitate to share much about my personal life on the blog. Before I hit “publish”, I wonder if they (you) won’t be interested or you might think I’m “fluffing my feathers” with too many pictures of me and my family. But you always amaze me with your generous and supportive comments. So thank you for that!

On to the new stuff! I just ...

Bokeh Quilt Finish from Dizzy Quilts

Back in the Fall, Yvonne from Quilting Jetgirl launched her annual quilt-along. I've participated in her quilt-alongs a couple of times now and when I saw this year's design, I just had to take part again. This year's pattern is called Bokeh. The quilt-along wrapped up just a few days ago and Yvonne is hosting a link-up party on her blog so that all the participants can share their finished quilt.

All of the fabrics I chose for my version came from my stash and the background is Kona White.

The middle blocks came together very easily ...
