WAITING TO BE QUILTED from SCRAPS DU JOUR

 
Here are a few Preemie Quilts and a Doll Quilt waiting to be quilted. I started working on this year's batch last week. So far, I have about ten of them done. The scrap donation pile never seems to get
smaller. 
 
These quilts may have to wait a bit before being quilted since I started quilting this flannel quilt with a flannel back. It gives my arms a workout. After doing the straight line quilting -- four horizontal and four vertical lines -- I'm going to quilt from the outside in. I find that makes it easier to maneuver the ...

PREEMIE QUILTS from SCRAPS DU JOUR

 
This is the latest stack of Preemie Quilts. Tonight I'll take them to the guild meeting and hand them off to the Preemie Quilt coordinator. These quilts will end up in local hospitals and be given to the parents of premature babies. I wasn't planning on making these, but in my search for something else I saw these on a shelf. Someone had put my name in the Block of the Month drawing for these, and I won. I'm not much of a BOM fan, so I decided to make Preemie Quilts.

PREEMIE QUILTS from SCRAPS DU JOUR


While I'm back in the sewing groove after a hectic late spring and summer, I still haven't gotten back to the blog posting groove. Nonetheless, here is a stack of preemie quilts that were turned in at my guild meeting. They will be distributed to local hospitals and given to premature babies when they leave the hospital.
