This week My Guy was the one that waited till the last minute to get any photos for this week's challenge.
We all thought last week's challenge was hard. This week's was even harder. How do you photograph something like this?
We all have photos. Do they meet the challenge? Maybe, maybe not. So it's a good thing we make up the rules!
My plans for getting a photo were rained out (mainly because I tend to wait till the day before to figure it all out). Here's my effort for the week.

Google came to my rescue at about 5 PM yesterday. Thankfully I remembered where the Scrabble game was (we've ...
read moreIt's been 5 weeks since my last photo challenge post. The main reason the challenge was on hiatus was Grad Girl's big exam that required a lot of effort to get ready for. Now That she's past that and a lot of our travel is done for a bit, we were all ready to get back to getting photos for the last challenge.
This one was harder than we expected. To be honest, I struggled the most. I didn't get my photos till last night and it took some set up and patience.

This last week went fast. As usual, I was scrambling yesterday to come up with a photo for this week's challenge:
I thought this one would be easier than the challenge cards we've had the last couple of weeks. The camera came out yesterday and some photos were taken ensuring there was a photo for today's post. Then I uploaded my the photos for the last week and found a couple of options from some earlier shots.

This week's photo challenge was harder than last week's. Last week both My Guy and I were scratching our heads, this week's definitely had us racking our brains.
To be honest, I completely forgot about getting a challenge photo till My Guy got home from work last night. He asked if I had a photo. I'd been so focused on other things that I had completely forgotten. So I scrounged around trying to find subject matter. I found two "subjects". One was too close to what My Guy had submitted, so I went with my #2 ...
read moreAll three of us enjoy this photo challenge. It's been such fun to see what we each come up with. But some week's are more of a challenge to find a photo then others. This week was that way for me and My Guy.
This isn't an object, it's an activity. It would be easy to take photos of each of us sleeping, but to be honest those probably aren't the most interesting subjects. I struggled all week with getting a photo. In fact you can tell from mine that inspiration didn't strike till ...
read moreThis week's challenge was another photography technique.
These can be harder as the subject is wide open. Anything can be a photo, so you have to self edit. At any rate, before I get to the pictures, I should probably define "depth of field". The distance between the closet and farthest objects in a photo that is acceptably sharp is the depth of field. So a shallow depth of field is one where only a part of the photo is in sharp focus.
I took lots of photos this week, but only one set really fit the challenge requirements ...
read moreI hadn't planned to write photo challenge post this morning. Grad Girl is getting ready for her preliminary exam, so she's been really busy and working long days. Getting a photograph isn't her priority. She didn't think she'd have one for this week, but she texted me one for this challenge after I'd gone to bed.
Before posting the photos, let's discuss the rule of thirds as it relates to photography. Basically it's one way to set up the composition of your photos. The photo frame is divided into 9 equal rectangles ...
read moreThis week the weather had been typical for the first half of August, hot and miserable. Though the evening thunderstorms are not usually on the agenda, normally it's very dry this month. We've needed the rain, so things are much greener then usual for this time of year. Thankfully this week's photo challenge didn't require being out in the elements, but it felt like a scavenger hunt as I scoured the house for subject matter for this week's challenge photo.
I actually ventured into the attic (never wise on a August afternoon) and finally decided ...
read moreEveryone got on the ball this week and had a photo to send me last night. This week's challenge is one where the subject was secondary and the technique was primary.
We were all scratching our heads about what to photograph for this week's challenge.
Funny is very subjective, so very dependent on the individual's perspectives and experiences. I find all the photos humorous, you might not. Even among the three of us there was disagreement as to which photos were the funniest. What's included in this post was the photographer's choice.
I completely blanked on this challenge. None of my ideas really panned out. This was the best of my not so wonderful ideas.

We all had our acts together this week and managed to get photos for the challenge:

I had hoped to post last week, but we were in Texas. I forgot to pack the challenge card deck. Grad Girl struggled to get a photo, she was really busy and grad school schedules are more sleep in a bit, but work late. Which can make it hard to capture a photo for the last challenge.
Week 114 was a tough challenge for all of us. Grad Girl and I had photos for last week, but My Guy wasn't ready. To be fair, work had been more crazy than usual and we were both at a conference last week, so he just hadn't had time to put his mind to coming up with a subject for the challenge.
Some of the challenge cards have been tough, this week's was pretty easy for all of us.
We took two weeks with this challenge. All three of us struggled to come up with photos with this as the subject.
On the surface it doesn't seem to be that hard, but it's not been the easiest subject to find in either community. My Guy is happy with his newest shot, Grad Girl and I are going with what we came up with. Some weeks are just going to be that way.

read moreWe skipped the challenge last week. It was Mother's Day weekend and I wasn't sure there would be time to get a post together. Plus none of us really liked what we had for photographs last week, so we extended the deadline by a week so we had a chance to explore other options.
The week 111 challenge continued the theme of "concepts".
Concepts are a lot more of a challenge than finding an object to photograph. Consequently, it usually makes for a more interesting set of photos as we each seek to find some object to photograph ...
read moreThere was no photo challenge post last week. Grad Girl was running short on time and I was a bit immobile for most of the week before due to knee surgery. We were all able to get photos this week. It wasn't an easy subject.
