Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

This week has seen the finish of a couple of my projects. Block 6 for Noah’s Journey is done.

Block 7 doesn’t come out for a couple of weeks yet.

The knitting on The Night Forest sweater is done.

I have to weave in all the ends yet though. Here’s a close up of the top colour work and the bottom colour work.

I did start a new knitting project. It’s a shawl using double knit weight yarn called Gravity ShawlThere isn’t a whole lot done on it yet.

And then there is the ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I continue to work on my 3 hand projects, alternating them per day. I am enjoying doing this. I can make good progress each day per project. None get neglected and I don’t get tired of just working on one thing at a time.

First off is Noah’s Journey. This month it is ostriches and armadillos and peacocks. The ostriches are done and the armadillos are started. I love the little touches like the bows in this design.

Next up is my sweater. One sleeve is finished and the second has 2 or 3 inches done. There was ...

Slow Stitching All Week Long from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I mentioned last week that I had set myself up a rotation for working on my 3 hand stitching projects. It seems to be working well so far. I have made good progress on all three projects. First is the Noah’s Journey block. It is so close to being finished. But I ran out of one of the floss colours for the pink hippo, so I had to order more. That will likely take a week or so to get here. I can finish off the birds in the meantime when it comes up for its turn tomorrow. And ...

Slow Stitching Sunday from Eagle's Wings Quilts

Here it is, a brand new year and the first Sunday of that brand new year. I really hope this is a better one than last year. I hope we can get to the point where we can be out and about with people more. And for an introverted home body like me to say that, it is a sure sign that we’ve been isolated in our homes for way too long! Once more I am so grateful for our multi generational home where we can spend time with family here in our household. I am daily conscious of ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I have finished all the knitting I wanted to get done for Christmas and they were gifted Christmas morning. The last stitches were put into Becca’s mittens at 10:30 pm Christmas Eve. Nothing like finishing at the last minute. She loved them.

So I’m back now to my regular knitting and stitching with a new addition. Gail, aka the Cozy Quilter, was showing me some of the embroidery her daughter has been doing and also Gail has a new cross stitch pattern from the shop Peppermint Purple. I decided to go have a look. Oh dear..... that ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I’ve been feeling a bit better this week and so have been able to get more accomplished. I finished the stitching on the fourth Noah’s Journey block just in time for the new one to come out. Here’s the fourth,
kangaroos and monkeys. The fifth has a couple of moose, perfect for Canada, and some hippos one of which is delightfully pink polka dotted.

I’ve also made progress on my The Night Forest sweater. I’m up to five inches done on the body which makes it much easier to get a picture of the colour ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

There hasn’t been a whole lot of anything happening in the stitching department in the last week or so. I’m in the middle of my annual November fibromyalgia flare up. It seems to always happen at this time of year. Probably a combination of the time change from daylight savings back to regular time and the resulting lack of day light. Add to that seemingly endless days of overcast grey clouds and here we are. So energy for doing anything other than watching stuff on TV or computer is sorely lacking.

At some point I did get the ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

How did another Sunday come around so fast? It seems like each week goes by faster and faster. It’s the middle of November already. Didn’t we just start the summer a week or two ago? It’s quite disconcerting how fast our days go by. It’s good to have these blogs to keep track of just what happens from week to week and see what is accomplished. I got the fourth of the Noah’s Journey blocks all coloured and the stitching started.

I’ve also done some more on my The Night Forest sweater. The colour ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I gave in this past week and started a new sweater. Is anyone surprised? Somehow I doubt it. And no, I haven’t finished Abbie’s Paw Patrol sweater. I did get the shoulder seams sewn, if that counts as progress. After I did that I tried it on her and it seems to be long enough, so I can go ahead and get the rest of the seams sewn. Then I need to pick up stitches to do a button band and also do the duplicate stitches for the figure of Skye that she wants. I think I need ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I haven’t been doing a lot of stitching this past week. I’m too tired by the evening to focus. I’ve been working a little bit on Abbie’s Paw Patrol sweater but it isn’t all that interesting at the moment for photo shoot purposes. The back and the 2 fronts are finished. One sleeve is to the decrease portion of the top of the sleeve and the other is yet to be started. I much prefer doing seamless in the round type sweaters than those that are done in pieces. I’m doing the Skye version ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

First off I want to wish everyone in Canada who may be celebrating thanksgiving this weekend a very happy and safe one. We have scaled way back and are only meeing with the people here in the house. I am continually thankful for our happy multi generation household here.

I have 2 slow finishes this week. I participated in Casapinka’s mystery knit along that began a couple of months ago now. It had 6 sections of clues all written from the perspective of one of her cats, named Sharon. It was so much fun to do, not only because ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I finished off the last stitches in the main Noah’s Journey block last night at about 10. I am so pleased with it!

It needs a good pressing. Here’s a close up of the front of the elephants and some of the bunnies.

Next up are some kangaroos and more bunnies. As soon as I’m finished here I’m going to get the next block cut and traced and coloured.

Since there isn’t a whole lot new going on around here, I will post this and link up to Kathy’s Slow Sunday Stitching and then ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I am beginning to put my version of Crabapple Hill’s Summer Kitchen quilt together. It is a slow process, even if this part is done by machine.

Our family has decided to keep our grand daughter home this year rather than send her off to junior kindergarten, a decision I fully support. However that means we are doing some of the schooling with her which gobbles up time. But it is time well worth spending. I squeeze in a bit of machine sewing here and there.

In the evenings I am continuing to stitch on my Noah’s Ark ...

Slow Stitching from Eagle's Wings Quilts

I have finished all the stitcheries for my Summer Kitchen quilt. There are 8 different blocks that go in the outer border. Here are 7 out of those 8. The 8th is a jar of Strawberry jam that has been temporarily misplaced so it didn’t get into the photo. Here it is on its own.

Since I have finished all those I had hoped to get some time on Saturday to start putting them together. However the first day of the London air show was today and my husband wanted to go, so off we went. I figured it ...
