The Work Continued from Jo's Country Junction

You might remember that earlier this week I told you that the boys helped with a few jobs around the house.  I told you they trimmed the trees and helped with the garden.  What I didn’t tell you is that they moved into the house and helped there too.

As many of you know I’ve been working on fixing up the living room.  Kramer and I initially moved into the house before we had a chance to make things the way we really wanted them.  It was part money, part time and part just plum being sick of ...

The Craig and Jo Show: Planter Boxes from Jo's Country Junction

I told you that Craig and I had a big day of fix ups around the outside of my house on the 6th.  Kalissa had worked the overnight and Craig was looking for a way to keep him and the boys out of her hair so she could sleep…so he came to my house and helped with projects.

First it was the new pole with the no maintenance sleeve and hanging baskets….

Then is was the landscaping along the southwest corner of my house….

Then Craig said anything else???  I told him a couple long term projects.  I want ...

The Craig and Jo Show: Another Spot of Landscaping from Jo's Country Junction

I told you earlier this week that Craig and I (mostly Craig) put up the new hanging basket post.  Well after that was done Craig asked me if I have the stuff to do the landscaping on the back south west corner of the house.  I said I did…Craig said, “It’s so nice and cool yet today so we better get it done.”…so we did.

The back corner of the house had gotten a little overgrown.  I’ve been so busy keeping up with watering the plants I have and working on the other new landscape projects ...

The Craig and Jo Show: The New Hanging Basket Post from Jo's Country Junction

Kalissa had to work the overnight shift at the local ER where she works so Saturday morning Craig called and said, “The weather is super cool.  I’m trying to keep the boys from waking up Kalissa.  How about I come over and tackle a project or two?”

Oh my..there is no way to say no to an offer like that…so I quickly started getting things together so we could get something done.  If I’m going to get help, I’m going to scramble!

I had two hanging baskets on a shepherd’s hook.  Well the hooks ...

The Living Room from Jo's Country Junction

I started on the living room two Sundays ago.  My intention was to get it finished during the week but it was a busy week and nothing got done.

My goal for the weekend was to paint and if I got time to try to work on the woodwork.

The Sunday before:

First up…fill the holes.  I use a great product called Drydex.  I put it on pink and it dries to white.

Another product I HIGHLY recommend is a trim brush.  I don’t paint a wall without one.  I don’t use painter’s tape at all ...

Sunday Happenings from Jo's Country Junction

Sunday the 9th, was a big day.  I take that back.  It was a huge day.

Kalissa and I took the boys to church.  During services we heard that the lady who went to our church who acted much like a grandma to Kalissa had been moved to the nursing home.  We decided after church to bring her flowers and the church bulletin.

We had a nice visit.  We kept it short as Carver was antsy but it was so nice….and short visits are okay.  She had heard that Kramer had passed away and sent along her condolences.  I ...

The Living Room from Jo's Country Junction

Since we moved to the house January of 2015, we haven’t done a single thing to the living room.  Well in truth, all we’ve done to it since we bought the house is paint the walls.  We moved our old furniture to this house.  We really didn’t care about the living room at all.  We were NEVER in there.

The old furniture was good for the childcare kids…We didn’t use it.  We didn’t care that the chair Roger sat in had stains.  It truly made no difference to us at all as the living ...

Finally…after a YEAR! from Jo's Country Junction

About a year ago I started working on my upstairs bathroom.  When we first moved in we were tapt out in the money department.  There was no room in the budget for matching towels, shower curtains of my choosing, curtains and the other extras.  I simply used what we had and made due.  It didn’t bother me.  I was so tickled to have the house.

Then last year I got the itch to slowly improve the bathroom.  One of the things I don’t love about my bathroom is the window.  It’s hidden behind the tub and shower ...

A New Development from Jo's Country Junction

On March 21st I had the childcare kids outside to play and noticed a hole in my yard.

I took a picture of it because I wanted to send the photo to the neighbors as the hole was on the property line.

Well one week and a snowstorm later, the hole has gotten bigger.  Notice that a second hole has started.  This happened when Hubby was out bringing the garbage can in.  He saw the neighbor and told him to come over and see the hole.  Hubby stepped in the spot where the small is and sunk.

I snapped a ...

Black Board Fix… from Jo's Country Junction

image_pdfimage_print

Slow and steady wins the race, right??  Well at least that’s what they say.  I am DEFINITELY slow when it comes to decorating.  I am terrible at it and actually think I have a phobia about it.  SERIOUS.  People can never believe that a person who can craft and create is paralized when it comes to decorating…it’s true.  I am terrible at it.  Proof?  How often do you see a home decor post here on the blog??

Well anyway I had a friend come and give me a boost.

Well here is the entry way into my ...
