Getting ready to get Back-to-Sew!

Moving back into my sewing room is going well.
I am still organizing, although I have done some sewing.
Had to make sure my machine was up and running after she moved back in!

While sorting my  huge stash of fabrics and old magazines and patterns,
I found this gem ...

American Patchwork and Quilting, April 2008, Issue 91

How I Am Spending My Summer Vacation ~ Part 1 from Life in the Scrapatch

Time to move back into my sewing room!

Son #2 moved out again.
I will miss seeing him all the time,
but I am happy to move my sewing mess out of my dining room.
Nutmeg is new to this sewing room thing.
She is actually missing my Matty.

There is one piece of furniture left from my daughter's
youth bedroom set, an old storage/TV unit,
that I will fill with fabric and stuff again.
The shelf ledges used to hold her photos and trophies and treasures.
Soon they will hold my sewing notions.

Maestro is not sure ...

I Heart Fabric! from Life in the Scrapatch

I <3 Fabric!

Sew I am sewing for the ...

I have a small stash of Valentine and heart themed fabrics,
some old, some newer,
some left from previous projects,
some never opened.

All well fondled.

What shall I choose?

Deciding on a project proved even more difficult.

My quilty muse had too many ideas and changed directions a few times.

Maestro finally said, "No more thinking! Time to choose, cut and sew!"

"Do I have to do this myself?
Here is a bobbin.  We need pink thread ...

Feline The Fabric! from Life in the Scrapatch

I am "feline" the fabric today!

And Then There Were Three ... from Life in the Scrapatch

Meet Nutmeg!

Nutmeg came to us from
in nearby Salem, NH,
where she was then named Brooklyn,
who came there from
in South Carolina.

As you know, in July,

we adopted Maestro at SARL
to fill the empty place left in our home and hearts
when My Butterfly crossed the rainbow bridge in March.

Katniss, who feels very secure in our hearts and home, was very accepting
of this new little sister.
As Maestro grew and became more active we soon decided she
needed a playmate who could keep up with her non stop ...

Monday Making from Life in the Scrapatch

 More  Sundrops

This photo was taken with bright early morning sun shining into my quilty corner.
For the beginning of autumn, we have had a return
to sunny, dry and very hot summery weather.

I pieced the back of my quilt ...

with a little help from my quilty kitty helpers ...

Katniss  helped with
measure twice, cut once.

Maestro helped with ... hmmm ... everything?

We are quilting.

My quilty kitties and I are sew looking forward to
