More on "One Big Finish" from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Last week I wrote about this whopper of a quilt! A king with a little extra drop on the sides because I almost could. Almost--meaning I really couldn't but I tried anyway and then improvised.

Mrs. Bertha Q2 ~~ finish! from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

Mrs. Bertha is a guild friend who has asked me to quilt a top that she "inherited" from a friend. The short story is that the woman who made the quilt tops is someone I knew as a little girl.

Mrs. Mary Lee was mom and dad's neighbor from the time that we moved to Plaucheville until her death. They are all gone now, but some quilts and tops made by these neighbors are still around.

My Talking Quilt from Quilting Solutions

Do you have conversations with your quilt?  I do.  Sometimes my side of the conversation needs some cleaning up, but we do converse.  When I stitch nicely my quilt dances.  When I try to go my own way my quilt chastises me.

Lots of things about the quilt surprised me: the lime green worked, the background that looks different from my expectations, and my crazy, changing quilting motifs. Some of the motifs I came ...
