November 2025 monthly recap.................. from Exuberant Color

November had just one finish. It was a special one for me because it is made of all Nancy Crow designer fabric. I started collecting the fabric in the mid 1990s and had only used a few pieces of it in quilts over the years since then. It's my favorite pattern to make, 16 patch with a patchwork print cut into 8" blocks placed in with the pieced blocks. It is 62" x 78.5".

October was a good month with 4 finishes. Top left with 3 sizes of 16 patch blocks and a paper pieced star was started in 2017, the star pieced in 2008, and finally a finish. It is 38.5" x 51". Bottom left was started in 2011, the border added in 2022, and finally finished last month. I cut pieces with my new Bear Paw die and played with them for this layout. It is 47.5" x 58.5". Big and small, but 2 finishes anyway. The 16 patch on the left is all Marcia Derse fabric, both front and back. It is 78" x 95". On the right, a double 4 patch, is Kaffe collective and Martha Negley fabric and is 40" x 59.5".

I only completed one top, and that's fine with me. I'm gaining on finished vs. started.

August 2025 monthly recap......... from Exuberant Color

The finishes for August seem like so long ago because they were both at the beginning of the month. The border barely shows on the quilt on the left against a white design wall. It was made from 7 Martha Negley fabrics and I used my die cutter for all of the pieces. It is 67" x 83.5".

On the right is Australian Bars, all Australian/Aboriginal fabrics. It is 50" x 71".

July 2025 monthly recap.................. from Exuberant Color

I managed to get two quilts finished in July. The one on the left was quilted by Robin Diaz so I just had to trim the quilt and add the binding on it. The top was made in May so it was a fast turnaround. It is 62.5" x 79". The fabrics are Kaffe collective with most of the large prints designed by Philip Jacobs. Most of the light fabrics are Kaffe and Brandon designs.

There were 3 finishes in June. The Crooked Cobblestone wall hanging took the longest to quilt and it is 36.5" x 57.5". It used up most of the cobblestone blocks I made several years ago.

In the center is a quilt spanning about 20 years for all of the parts to finally come together and be a cute baby quilt. It is 35" x 44".

I'll start my post with the only finished quilt for the month. The top was finished in August of 2020 and it is the last of my large quilt tops from past years to be quilted (by longarmer Robin Diaz).

It is 61.5" x 76". It has 6" and 4" Bow Tie blocks in it.

There were 3 finishes in April. The quilt on the left is all batik fabrics and the top was finished last year in October. It is 62.5" x 74".

The other 2 finishes are made with Tilda fabrics. I searched online for pieces from older lines to add to the newer lines that were available. I had some green prints too but chose to only use the soft reds, roses, and blues in these 2 quilts. There were two finishes in March. On the left Neutral Batik 16 Patch 3 is 54.5" x 72". I have made a total of 4 quilts with these fabrics; the first one was sold as a top, the second a finished quilt (made with triangles) was sold, a family member has the third one. I'm hoping a family member will want this one.

There were 3 finishes and no new quilt tops, and that is great. I do have blocks ready to make into a top for next month.

The neutral color batik 16 patch is 71" x 93", the last of my big quilts to be quilted. I still have a smaller top made from the same group of blocks that will be quilted this year.

The pink/blue triangle quilt is 47" x 59" and I'll put it with the stack of baby quilts. Kaffe Fassett and Tula Pink fabrics.

It was all new quilt tops in October, no finishes. I still have one more finish than new tops though for the year.

Kaffe Blue Pinwheels is 60" x 72". These were the leftover triangles from the pink/blue triangle quilt. I guess I cut a few too many for one project.

The butterfly baby quilt top is 35 "x 45". I think I made those blocks about 20 years ago, maybe a couple years before that. They were probably started to promote the book that the patterns were in. It's publication date is 1993 and that is over ...

I had 2 finishes in September, both quilted by Robin Diaz. The one on the left reminds me of graffiti and is mostly e Bond's fabric lines (Glyphs, Ravel, and Root) with some of the dark narrow strips Marcia Derse fabric. It is 59" x 79".

The one on the right is Kaffe Fassett collective and Tula Pink fabrics. I love pink and green together. It is 59" x 82".

I have 28 finished quilts so far this year.

I only finished one quilt top in September. That is good because I have only made 24 new quilt tops ...

I had 4 finishes in August. Pink Hearts and 4 Patches is 59" x 76". The top was finished in February 2023. Printed cottons and batiks.

Fonthill, my interpretation of a Kaffe quilt by the same name, is 62.5" x 75". The top was finished in July 2023. It is at least half batik fabrics in the 2" triangles, and a mix of lots of other print fabrics. Many are Kaffe collective fabrics.

It was obvious I wasn't going to have any more finishes today so my monthly recap is a day earlier than usual. I had two finishes, both quilted by my longarm friend Robin. The Red Kaffe Squares is 66" x 84.5" and has at least 77 different Kaffe collective fabrics in it. Hole in the Barn Door/ Churn Dash with 4 different size blocks is 63.5" x 82.5" and also is Kaffe collective fabrics. This one might have closer to 100 different fabrics.

I didn't expect to have a quilt top finish for July but ...

There were 3 finishes in June. From left to right: Baby quilt started in 1996 and I still love the fabrics in it. It is 35" x 41". Kaffe X quilt made with yarn dyed woven stripes and Kaffe prints is 58.5" x 78.5". The top was made in 2022. 16 patch made with African fabrics and mottled batiks with an accent batik print as alternate squares scattered through the quilt. It is 62.5" x 78.5". There was only one finished quilt in May. It is one of a series of solids and prints that I started several years ago. (Inspiration quilt and block directions here.)

This quilt is 36.5" x 66" and has Hobbs 80/20 batting in it.

Two quilts were finished in January from tops made a few years ago, both large ones. Mosaic made of Kaffe collective prints is 76.5" x 97.5" and is in my top 5 favorite large quilts. Batik Pineapple Log Cabin is 69.5" x 89". Lots of hand stitching in those bindings. (Longarm quilting by Robin Diaz).
