Woof! from the confused quilter

Recently the Mini Quilt Trading Swap Flickr group held a swap with the theme Village, Town or House.  What a great theme!  This swap was a secret partner round, and I lucked out and got my dear friend Leslie's name.  Oh, I was so excited!!!

Took me a little while to decide what to make for her, but there was a happy dance when I settled one something.  As I was paging through the book Houses by Yoko Saito I found a dog house pattern--I knew I'd hit the right idea!  Leslie has a beloved Irish Setter named ...

2016 FAL -- FABULOUS Fluffy Mini Finish from the confused quilter

Made By Hand was a recent swap theme for the Mini Quilt Trading Swap group.  I started several different quilts for this swap and kept changing my mind over and over.  The original plan was to use English Paper piecing, and although I did actually complete a quilt top in that method it just wasn't right. It was one of those times where nothing I made felt like it was right or nice enough.  This one was a real struggle. Eventually I pulled out the felted wool and all my pretty perle cottons and eventually ended up with this ...
