With Love, To Long-armers from Kat & Cat Quilts

Another Friday, some more finishes! Courtesy of CiL's devoted long arm quilters.

These were all assembled from blocks donated during the Jan 2022 block drive. The first 5 were assembled and quilted by Linda. I got some close ups to show off the cool pantos she used.

I'm really excited because I met a local long-armer last week who wants to help us out! After talking about things she asked me to bring her the rest of the string tops I have on hand!

It was really a fortuitous meeting. After getting my haircut I decided to visit ...

Linda & Wendy from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy weekend quilters! I've got a few pretty quilts to share from CiL's wonderful longer-armers. Linda sent in this beautiful batik quilt with one of her recent boxes of block drive quilts.

I love the colors and textures on this quilt; the quilting suits it perfectly.

Wendy sent in this quilt that shows off the scrappy fabrics with some of the tops she longarmed for us.

I made a somewhat urgent quilt delivery to our main hospital this week. They got down to only one quilt left, which was a first! We're still doing well on our ...

Assorted Block Drive Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday quilters! This weekend I have quilts from Linda to show you. Linda has been such a busy worker bee for the past couple years helping to finish CiL quilts.

This geese quilt was Linda's contribution to the Sept/Oct 2022 drive, she made this one entirely herself. I really like this quilting design with the loops.

This quilt is from the 2021 red, white, and blue stars drive. I recognize a lot of Mina's fabrics in there.

Linda assembled and quilted the blocks. I know that quite a few of you helped Cynthia with her red ...

Back to Your Regularly Scheduled Quilting from Kat & Cat Quilts

Hello quilters and happy Friday! Happy Spring! My parents are tilling their garden and I've been weed-eating around my house and cutting down last year's lantana.

Linda recently sent back a batch of quilted Tall 9s quilts along with 2 of her own quilts. This batik with the HSTs and the cool square-swirl quilting is my favorite.

I thought the star FMQ on this modern stars quilt was really cool.

I'm doing ok, not what I'd consider normal but better than I was doing earlier in the year.  I think the change in the weather helps ...

Longarmers to the rescue from Kat & Cat Quilts

Hello! This week I have a couple of tops completed by Covered in Love's devoted long-arm quilters. First this pretty, sweet top was sent in by Holly and quilted by Linda. There are lots of strawberries in the fabric and it makes me think of the strawberry shortcake dolls from years ago.

This quilt is a very generous size, so I was very grateful to be able to send it to a longarmer instead of wrestling with it on my machine.

Next is a top by Becky.  Some of you may remember that Becky drove to meet me ...

Pixel Block Drive Finish from Kat & Cat Quilts

Hello! Time to show off some of my favorite quilts we've made in a long while.  These four quilts came from the blocks we made in our May/June 2022 block drive. The "Scrappy Pixel Block" was designed by Sushi.Farmer on Instagram. We made a colorful version inspired by JessicaQuilter

I sent all the blocks that came in to Linda D. and she assembled and quilted them into four quilts. She did an awesome job of blending together all the various blocks to make cohesive quilts. I love how bright and colorful they all are!

There were 4 ...

It's Fall, Y'all from Kat & Cat Quilts

Many of the blocks in this quilt are from Beth H.

Happy Friday :) I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving with the people close to you. I has rained ALL week but the sun finally came out today and got some quilt pictures so I can make posts for you! Also real quick I wanted to draw your attention to this post about an opportunity to support another organization like CiL running a block drive.

Photo bomb by my new porch cat (stray). She doesn't have a name yet, I've been calling her "My Friend." She ...

Stars and Stripes from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy weekend again quilters! Fall is finally here, and I even officially had to turn on the heater for the first time! Our little town's annual harvest festival will be this weekend and I'm looking forward to all the festivities.

These four quilts from last summer's RWB block drive were pieced and quilted by Linda D on her long arm. (Linda is a rockstar.) I tried to get some decent up-close shots so you could see her choices for the quilting designs.

Enjoying the cooler weather, I've been walking at the nature preserve most days. It ...

Yay for Linda from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday and have some quilts! These were all made by Linda, one of the hard-working quilters who keeps us going.

This beauty is the cousin of the quilt at the top of this post. Christine sent in that quilt with extra fabric for a border and due to size we decided to save the border fabric for another use.  Linda added some fabric of her own and made this second quilt with the perfect quilting motif.

I love batik fabrics! I just made a baby quilt for a friend of mine with batik fabrics that I will show you ...

Textured Quilts Finished from Kat & Cat Quilts

The blue and white textured quilts from last winter's block drive are done! I don't think it's a secret that this block drive has been my favorite in a long time. These are such cool blocks!

Linda, bless her heart, assembled and quilted all of these.  I really like her choice to quilt over the designs. It pins down some of the flappy bits so that they aren't too wild but the designs are still 3D and tactile. The first 4 are made from block drive blocks and the last one was made completely by Linda ...

More Beauties from Kat & Cat Quilts

Is it hot where you are? Because it's gotten really hot here. Summer has arrived with a bang. Patricia B. sent in these beauties this week!

I really like the fountain pen border on this one. You can see some of Patricia's previous quilts here

I hope you're all doing well going into the summer and looking forward to fun camping and bbq's and that sort of thing.

I came across a quilty blog recently I want to share with you.  Melva did a block series based on letters she found in her grandparents belongings.

This ...

Last of the 2021 Strings (and Friends) from Kat & Cat Quilts

Happy Friday once again, quilt-y friends! At long last I have photos of that last quilts from the 2021 block drive.

If you remember, the 2021 drive was the one where you all made string blocks that were foundation pieced directly onto the batting.

With another block drive wrap up comes another map:

At the same time, I wanted to do a round-up of some more string quilts that have been completed.

Top by Pam C, quilted by Linda

These two tops were sent in by Pam C. some time ago and finally finished by Linda on her longarm.

Top ...

Fall Tall Nines from Kat & Cat Quilts

The first ten quilts from the Fall Tall 9 Patch Drive have been finished!  Pam assembled and quilted these blocks sent in by Susan.

I can't get enough of these colors and I hope you feel the same.  The blocks from Cindy were also assembled and quilted by Pam.

Irene sent in these blocks that Pam completed. I had to take a close up of the awesome saturated fabrics.

Lastly for this group from Pam, this quilt is made from blocks sent in by Jane and Kathleen.  Usually I mix the block from a drive all together, but if ...

Quilt Roundup from Kat & Cat Quilts

Some big quilts today along with some big news! This great big, beautiful top was pieced by Sherrill and quilted by Pam.

The big news is that after 7 years Covered in Love is expanding into a second hospital! As you may have gathered from my comments before, there are two very large hospitals in Tyler and they sit side by side.  With everyone's generous support and many new people joining in we have now grown to the point that we needed to expand!

Back during the Hands2Help Drive last year Becky donated some finished and almost finished quilts ...

Red White and Brrrrr from Kat & Cat Quilts

Blocks by Holly L assembled and quilted by Pam

Hey everyone, sorry I missed posting last week! I usually at least give you a cat picture if I can't get a post together but the whole day completely snuck past me.  As compensation here's another photo Sundae dressing up in my Christmas gifts.

She's thrilled, really ;) Now back to your regularly scheduled quilt content.

These are the first quilts to be posted from this past summer's RWB patriotic stars drive. This one was pieced and assembled by Linda D., who does so much longarm quilting to ...

Christmas Eve Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

Some spring-y quilts for the cold Christmas eve!  I'm making the rounds visiting family, Christmas is my favorite!

Only two quilts today, these were both quilted by Linda. I wanted to show some closeups of the quilting because it's brilliant.   This beautiful batik top came from Christine B, it's butterfly themed.  Look at the lower left corner where the sun is hitting to see the true colors of the border.

There was an additional outer border with large rainbow batik butterflies, but we decided since it made the quilt so large to save that and make a ...

Fiddlesticks Wrap Up from Kat & Cat Quilts

November and a new blocks drive, how time flies! There aren't many things that I find more satisfying than wrapping up a block drive.

We've just finished off the last of the quilts from last Sept/Oct's Fiddlesticks drive. These first 4 were assembled by Pam and quilted by Linda.

The quilting design above with the zig-zag circles is one of my favorites. And I love the color layout on the quilt below. Especially from a distance, it looks awesome.

Sort of feathered shell quilting on this one.

Another really pretty design with pastels on a ...

Great Big Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

Some big cozy quilts this week from the long armers! Wendy quilted this one that Sherrill pieced. Perfect for the falling leaves and fall weather.

These colors are similar to the ones in our latest drive and I am loving how those blocks are looking at they come in.

Priscilla pieced this pastel chain top and Pam quilted it.

And this blue and yellow top was pieced by Jeanine and quilted by Pam.

Pam has an uncanny knack for perfectly flat, smooth bindings. I'm terribly impressed.

Her bindings are so smooth I had a hard time getting my gravity ...

More Fiddlesticks Quilts from Kat & Cat Quilts

Welcome back to the rainbow forest! That's what I think when I see the quilt above. These are Fiddlesticks quilts 6-12 from last Fall's block drive

The first 2 quilts were pieced and quilted by Pam. She has a great knack for color coordinating the blocks.

These next four quilts were quilted by Linda. Two were pieced by Pam and two by Linda.

I would not have made it through the past year without these two ladies and others who have taken on quilting duties to help with the block drives!

You can see previous quilts from this ...

2020 Oh My Stars! Wrapup from Kat & Cat Quilts

Thank you to those who have responded to my appeal for backing fabrics! I did get one mystery box this week, someone ordered 108" width fabric from Marshall Dry Goods and shipped it to me.  Thank you, whoever you are.  Several of you have ordered from or recommended Marshall Dry Goods to me, I had never heard of them before and I love their designs and prices!

Happy weekend quilters! We're wrapping up last year's red white and blue block drive just in time for the 2021 drive to start. Starting off with a few bonus quilts, Erin ...
